Meet Albert and Carol, two lost souls, brought together through a series of unforgettable letters.

It started with a letter …

It’s hard for Carol to admit her failings. Unhappy in her marriage and with a teenage daughter who will barely converse with her, she feels trapped. So she puts pen to paper; well, it seems less daunting than airing her thoughts aloud. She isn’t expecting anyone to read her letters, so she doesn’t address them. Instead, she marks them with a smiley face and pops them in the post box.

Albert’s retirement day at Royal Mail looms and he’s given one final task; organise the ‘lost letters’ that have been piling up in a room behind the sorting machine. Amongst the letters addressed to Santa, he arrives at one with a smiley face drawn in place of an address. Albert opens the letter, unaware that in doing so his world would never be the same again.

Lost & Found is a story of two ordinary people, brought together through a series of unforgettable letters.

Two lost lonely souls connecting through lost letters.

You have Carol who is in an unhappy marriage and a mother to a teenage daughter she doesn’t really understand. Then you have Albert who is a soon to be retired postman who lives with his cat Gloria and the ever present memory of the wife who died some forty years earlier.

Carol isn’t the kind of character you warm to right away. It isn’t clear why she is so unhappy and incapable of showing any kind of true emotions until near the end of the book. Up until that point you don’t really see what she has to complain about. Her husband doesn’t seem too bad (just not really out going or motivated but then he is going through something tough throughout the book) and her daughter isn’t off the rails – she is just really smart (maybe a bit of a know it all at times though). As she is so frustrated with her life her friend suggests writing all her thoughts and feelings down to get it off her chest. This results in some very funny, blunt and moving letters being sent out into the universe.

Albert on the other hand is very likeable and you do feel for him. He is slowly being pushed out of work before he really wants to and doesn’t feel he has anyone he can turn to. This all changes when his boss sets him the task of sorting out all the undelivered mail. He comes across a letter with a smiley face on it and feels like the letter was meant for him. After being alone for so long the letters that follow end up making him feel as though he does have a friend out there. Someone who needs him as they go through a tough time, but more than that, someone he feels connected to. They start to pull him out of his solitary life and back into the real world.

This is a witty, moving story and great for a lunchtime read.

Blog Tour and Book Review: Havoc Trilogy Box Set by Autumn Grey

autumn NEW
Title : Havoc
Author : Autumn Grey
Genre: Romance , Erotic
A three month modelling contract in Paris.
Two strangers drawn together by fate.
A stalker hell-bent on keeping them apart.
Selene Michaels is determined to never let anyone make her feel inferior again. After a painful divorce, she finds herself in Paris on a working holiday, hopeful that this will be the opportunity she has been waiting for. She intends to have fun and maybe find someone to flirt with; someone who will show her a good time, treat her right. What she does not expect to find is Remington St. Germain and his adorable son, Adrien. Remington is intense, devastatingly hot and a Prince Charming on the outside, but a dirty talking, insatiable devil behind closed doors and not the type to give up on something that he wants. Adrien makes her loss almost bearable. Selene soon realizes that life with Remington is not only interesting, but adventurous and dangerous. Someone is eager to keep Remington and her apart, and will go into great lengths to make sure that happens.
Remington is at a crossroads. He can either let Selene go, forget about her. Or pursue her with determination, just like he does everything else. Otherwise he will be right back where he was before she came into his life. The clock is ticking, and danger looms closer. He will do anything to save the woman who is fast becoming a part of his soul.
Sometimes life gives you a second chance. But what happens when danger threatens that chance?

Completely gripped and enthralled by this author’s ability to tell an amazing story that will keep you hooked from start to finish! It also counts as part of my 2015 Reading Challenge to read A Trilogy.

The main characters Remington and Selene draw you into their lives with such ease and keep you there right up until the end. The book is told through both Remington and Selene’s P.O.V’s which I think helps the reader understand them so much better.

Remington is all kinds of tall, dark, brooding and sexy man, and then throw in the fact that he is a suave Frenchman makes him so much hotter. He is a complex character that keeps his feelings close to his chest. He doesn’t let people close to him, or his son Adrien for that matter, for fear of getting hurt again but that all changes when he meets Selene quite by chance in a hotel lobby.

Selene is trying to build her life back together after her ex-husband slowly over the past 6 years broke her down to make her believe she wasn’t worthy of love. She starts by getting back to the job she loved so much. She is now the face of the Curvy Fashion House Line and is in Paris for a three month modelling contract. This is a start to her new life and a way to put the past behind her for good. Remington is just the man she needs to help build her confidence back up again. The moment he sees her is enough to build it back to skyscraper heights again with just that one sexy brooding look.

The chemistry between Remington and Selene is simply put electric. It starts out between them as a flirty holiday romance where they agree it will be for the three months Selene is in Paris for but soon turns into so much more. Right from the start they are pulled together and can’t seem to make themselves stay apart from each other, even when danger stirs its ugly head. A stalker from Remington’s past threatens their relationship and will do what ever it takes to keep them apart. Remington must do everything in his power to keep Selene and his son Adrien safe. They are the most important things in his life and he can’t live without them.

I love that this was a trilogy box set so I could go straight into the following books right after finishing the first. The fact that there are so many twists and turns keeps you on your toes and as there are some cliff-hangers at the ends of the first two in the series I’m not sure I could have waited long before needing to know how the story plays out.

You get so much from this series as a reader, romance, mystery, danger and sinfully steamy sex scenes between Remington and Selene, just HOT!!

A quote from Selene I loved that shows just what a great writer Autumn Grey is:

“Maybe I needed to teach my heart to hold back, to look before leaping because this jump might lead me to a place I could never climb out of. But a heart is stubborn, greedy, selfish, and it wants what it wants, thrives on being fed it’s favourite food, so I let mine feed as I took in Remington’s side profile.”

I would defiantly recommend this series and author, this is the first thing I have read of hers but will not be the last.

I received this book from Be My Book Boyfriend for this honest review.

Autumn Grey is the author of the Havoc series (Havoc, Obliterate, Mend). And just like her characters, she is quirky, sometimes funny and definitely flawed. She writes sexy contemporary romances full of drama, steamy kisses and happy ever afters.

She tried to best him at his own game!

Arabella Cullingham’s latest flirtation leaves her blue-deviled when the handsome colonel leaves without saying good-bye.

Her brother determines that a London Season is what his pretty sister needs to mend her broken heart.

Enter the dashing Earl of Magdalen, a confirmed bachelor whose female acquaintances run to women of dubious reputation.

They meet quite by accident and circumstances allow him to deduce she is a light-skirt!

Bella, for her own reasons, decides to play along, never thinking that the game might cost her the man she truly loves!

Kindle free read of the day with this saucy regency romance.

Arabella Cullingham and the Earl of Magdalen (Shaun) meet quite by chance, in a most amusing way. Arabella rushes out from some trees right into the path of Shaun’s rushing horses and carriage. The manner in which Arabella has presented herself – and the fact that she is alone – gives Shaun the notion that she is some country lass and a bit of a lightskirt who would be up for a bit of fun. So after making sure she is ok he immediately kisses her senseless. Arabella is in a bit of shock at his behaviour but can’t seem to push him away – she only wants to pull him closer. Only after taking her back to the cottage she is staying at does she understand what he thinks she is. Feeling a little adventurous and naughty she decides to play along. Its not like she thinks she will ever see him again.

Fate and luck have other plans in mind as it keeps putting them in each other’s paths again and again. As more time passes, and the more they get to know each other, it gets harder for Arabella to tell the truth. She knows she must but fears in doing so she will lose the man she is slowly falling in love with.

This is a comical, saucy regency romance journey where you as a reader are just along for the ride. And what a fun ride it will be, enjoy!

Blog Tour and Book Review: Black Horse by Addison Kline

Author : Addison Kline

Genre : Romantic Suspense

”What would you do if the only man you ever loved was the son of the man that murdered your parents?”

In Addison Kline’s fiery romantic suspense novel, Averi Ford’s future
collides with her past with ferocious intensity. Averi Ford and Colt
McClain have loved each other since they were children. They both come
from a broken past. Colt’s mother died when he was young, and Averi’s
parents were taken from her at the tender age of five. The same man is
responsible for both of their broken childhoods: Tom “Black Horse”
McClain. He also happens to be Colt’s father. Now twenty years after the
crimes that fractured both of their hearts, Black Horse is getting out
of jail and he’s coming after the girl who testified against him: Averi,
herself. Colt wants to hide her, but Averi refuses to run.

“Our past does not own us, and we owe it to our hearts to show the world
that love can arise from the darkest of places. We just have to survive
Black Horse to tell the tale.”

Black Horse Release Date will be May 28th

Wow the cover alone will make you start drooling before you even start this action packed read!

I could not put this book down. Such strong, compelling characters that will draw you into a world filled with anger, hurt, guilt, action, passion and love. Two people brought together by pain and tragedy trying to find something good worth holding on to.

You have Colton that has the pain and guilt on his shoulders by what his father has done. He is forever trying to come out of the shadow that his father has created, to be seen as his own man, and not as the son of a murderer “Black Horse”. The only light he has in his life is Averi. She is the only person he would do anything for. She has been his friend and love for most of his life. He couldn’t imagine a world without her and if something ever happened to her he doesn’t think that he would ever recover.

Averi has survived a lot in her life. After her parents and older brother were murdered before her eyes at the age of five you wouldn’t think anything or anyone could pull her out of the darkness that would come. The only thing that could was Colton. He has been there for her whole life and would go through anything to keep her safe. Their relationship has been a secret for years as she doesn’t feel her brothers would understand that she loves the man who murdered their parents. She loves them all and is trying to find the right time to let them know.

They have both lost those that they loved the most and both by the same man. They both want to avenge those murdered and the only way to be free is to kill the man responsible for their pain, Tom “Black Horse” McClain. Tom “Black Horse” is a character with so much hate he can’t see why anyone else should be happy when he isn’t and will go out of his way to make sure they are not.

I like how the author takes you back in time to show you how events played out in the past to get the characters to the stage they are at the beginning of the story. In this action packed read you are taken on a rollercoaster of events. From gun fights to burning buildings, just what will it take to take down Black Horse for good. Revenge and action go hand in hand with love and sex in this suspense driven read. There are so many twists and turns that you won’t see coming but will leave you hungry for more.

A smoking hot read that will leave you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next. Would definitely recommend this book.

Addison has had a love affair with the written word since before she

Another book to mark off my 2015 Reading Challenge list – A Book set during Christmas.

This is the perfect book to read at lunchtime as it is made up of lots of short stories to keep you entertained. Each story has its own bit of Christmas sparkle thrown in for good measure. I love reading books set at Christmas time and this one delivers every time.

Lots of short sweet stories, some longer than others, but all with that special something that has you wanting to come back for more. I like the way that even with a very short story the characters always seem fully developed. It’s the mark of a great writer and I would recommend anything written by Katie Fforde. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face and get you in a great mood.

My favourite stories are The Undercover Cook – romance getting all heated up in the kitchen, From Scotland with Love – getting snowed-in with an attractive author sounds like fun and A Christmas Feast – music of the soul to get the heart beating faster.

Also love that they put an excerpt at the back of the book to get you all excited about the next one that’s coming soon.
