In a perfect world, our dreams would have kept us together.
“You are my dream,” he said to me…
But in our world, dreams tore us apart.
I ran away from that life.
I threw us away…
And my choice broke him.
A message from beyond the grave would obliterate my world:
“You chose wrong.” These words would haunt me, telling me that everything I’d worked so hard for was wrong.
I chose independence.
“You chose wrong.”
I chose a career.
“You chose wrong.”
And now, how do I keep running…when all roads are leading me HOME!
WOW what an emotional rollercoaster you are taken throughout this book! I loved every second of it – what a great read. Love, loss, betrayal and hope for a better future – this book has it all and I’m so glad that it is a stand alone book.
Tenley has been away from her home for 5 long years. She is a very strong willed, intelligent person but she has been running from her feelings and those she left behind. She just couldn’t cope with the loss of her brother and the hurt she caused by one stupid mistake to the person she loved the most, Jagger. She has been hiding within herself and it takes a letter from beyond the grave to get her back on the right path and find her way back home.
Before her brother died he made her promise him that she would carry on with her life and be happy. He knew her so well that he could see his death would be hard on her and she would need a helping hand to get back to where she belongs. The place she belongs the most is in Jagger’s arms. After reading the letter she decides to come home but knows that this can’t be the only reason, when she finds out that Jagger is in a coma she can’t get there fast enough.
Everyone is trying to convince her, her brother included through his letters, that Jagger still loves her and would do anything to give their relationship a second chance. She wants to believe them but also doesn’t believe she should get the second chance. She just needs him to wake up and give her a sign that this is where she belongs. Three simple words are all it takes “Stay with me.”
Their relationship is not about trying to pick up where they left off but about starting again with whom they have become in the time spent apart. They say their love story is written in the stars and its one that will draw you in and hold you there right up until the end.
5 out of 5 stars
I received this ARC from Give Me Books for my honest review.
I am a dreamer. I’ve always been a dreamer. Some may not have worked out the way I hoped they would, but I also believe that everything happens for a reason.
Writing has changed my entire life. It brings happiness and fulfillment to areas in my life that I didn’t even know I was missing. It’s also one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever done. It takes me away
from my family, friends, and the little day-to-day tasks that once upon a time seemed normal. Sometimes I like to revisit my portfolio of old short stories, poems, and the inspirational quotes I have kept for many years. Reading through it all shows how far I’ve come and that the journey I am on now is exactly what I dreamed of many years ago. This makes me smile.
A long time ago, I used to write short stories and poems in journals and kept them privately to myself. It took quite some time and many sacrifices, but now I have four published books and
have my very own writing cave. What the heck is that? Well, it’s my second home where I laugh, dream, imagine, and write my heart out to hopefully produce something that will make other people smile.
I call New Jersey home where I share my life with my husband, Henry, and our three sons.
Life is an incredible journey. We are all an open book. Every day is a new chapter to write in our story. Lessons are to be learned and shared. Keep moving forward. Never give up on your dreams. Smile, and never let anyone dull your Sparkle.
Believe me…Your spirit will thank you for it.
