Blog Tour: ‘Michael’s Mystery’ by Linze Brandon

*** BOOK  TOUR ***

It was time for the Lords of the High Council to step in when the Grandmaster of Kryane is accused of murdering his own people. They had little choice but to prevent the collapse of the whole magicians order, so they sent Michael to investigate the allegations.

The people of the desert planet were an enigma, but none more than Andesine, the healer assigned to assist Michael. Why did she report the Grandmaster? Was she involved, or was there something more sinister going on?
The more people they interrogated the more they suspected that nothing was as it seemed. Not the murders, nor the Grandmasters’ motive as everyone thought.

Unable to resist the growing attraction between them, Michael and Andesine learn that they had to trust each other with their own secrets, and risking any future they might have.

Time and again the High Lords had to step in to prevent chaos on Kryane, but time was running out for Michael and Andesine. They had to get a new Grandmaster in place before the Kryane Order collapsed completely. And they had to find the who the true culprit was.

Fortunate to escape an attack from this monster once, they were risking the lives of many others in the process. Before the High Lords could formulate a plan, Michael and Andesine were captured, leaving the High Lords helpless to prevent it.

Kidnapped and imprisoned, Andesine was confronted with the realisation that if they were to survive their ordeal, it was up to her and her long suppressed powers. But as a healer she saved lives, would she be able to destroy the monster before he forces her to unleash her power to destroy the future of mankind?

Author Bio

I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO where I grew up with four older brothers. I now reside in Overland Park, Kansas. I’d always loved to write as a child. My teachers would call home not because I was in trouble but because I had a creative imagination and they wanted my parents to know about the crazy stories I was writing. I’ve always been a hard worker. I started working with my family’s company when I was 15 and still haven’t stopped. I am a wife, mother of two, hold down a full time job and am now trying to be a indie author. I have a passion for reading and before I started writing I could be found with a Kindle in my hand morning, noon and night. I’m a picky reader so it’s hard to please me but I feel like I have a keen eye for a good book.
I hope you all will join me on my new journey as I release my first book Fearless Love. It can be very scary but with my passion for the written word I hope it will be well worth it.

Book Review: ‘Wild Water’ by Jan Ruth

Wild Water

Title: Wild Water

Will life and family conspire to keep these lovers apart again?

Wild Water is the story of forty-something estate agent, Jack, who is stressed out – not only by work, bills, and the approach of Christmas, but by the feeling that he and his wife, Patsy, are growing apart.

His misgivings prove to be true when he discovers Patsy is having an affair, and is pregnant. As his marriage begins to crumble around him, he becomes reacquainted with his childhood sweetheart, Anna, whom he left for Patsy twenty-five years before.

His feelings towards Anna reawaken, but will life and family conflicts conspire to keep them apart again?

Goes down as another off my 2015 Reading list – A book you started but never finished (I always finish books though so I’m twisting this a bit to a book I started but didn’t finish in a day instead).

Wild Water is definitely a more mature read. Really like the author’s rich style of writing and how she draws you into not just the story but also the beautiful landscape the characters are in. Proving that characters in their early forties can still act like teenagers and get the chance at a true HEA again after heartbreak even when they thought their time had come and gone.

Right from the get go you know that Jack’s wife Patsy has been playing away from home and it’s a pattern she has had all her life it seems! There are a few moments when you just want to step into the book and give her a slap for how she treats not only Jack but also her whole family. You are on tender hooks just trying to figure out whom she might be with and when Jack is going to find out. Even when you get a clue to whom it could be you are never quite sure whether to believe it as it would be the obvious choice or whether it could be someone out of left field you haven’t read about yet.

Jack thought they were a happy family – husband, wife, and three children – but not everything is quite what it seems. When his wife leaves – taking his youngest daughter with her – it pushes Jack into a dark place of drinking, but soon thoughts of a divorce / custody battle start to be his focus. From this he now has time to think about what makes him happy and that just happens to be about the time that his teenage love comes back on the scene – Anna. With seeing her again it starts to bring up memories of the past and he has to decide whether he wants to act on them as a way to bring closure to it or whether it’s that he wants to start something again fresh for a future.

The moment that Anna sees Jack again it brings back all her feelings which she thought would have been long gone by now. But even after all these years he still manages to affect her. With Jack taking over his father’s estate agents where she lives he is then the one dealing with the sale of her house. It brings him and his teenage son closer to not just her but her teenage son aswell. She can see that they are all bonding but she just has to decide whether to let her heart get involved again as she might not survive the blow this time.

The connection between the two main characters, Jack and Anna, is great. You can see the past feelings they felt for one another coming to the surface and that they are having a lot of ‘what if’ moments going round their minds of what might have been at the beginning of the story. As a reader you are right there with them in thinking about what their lives could have been like but know that things happen for a reason and what will be will be. They were meant to come back to each other as stronger people, ones who will be able to handle everything that gets thrown at them – which is a lot!

Family drama and chaos go hand in hand throughout this story. Building right up to the pivotal moment when every secret comes to a head. You can only run from them for so long before they come back to bite you in the arse. A beautiful story to get lost in, fast paced and intriguing with its realistic characters and atmospheric scenery. Would definitely recommend this author, as she is such a great storyteller.

Book Blitz: ‘Finding Unauthorized Faith in Harry Potter’ by Nicole L Rivera

Finding Unauthorized Faith in Harry Potter

Title: Finding Unauthorized Faith in Harry Potter

To be Published: 10th December 2015

Author: Nicole L Rivera

Finding Unauthorized Faith in Harry Potter by Nicole L Rivera, is a Christian devotional especially suited for young adults and all fans of the remarkable series, and for use as in group Bible studies. Nicole reveals the Harry Potter story as a guide to life’s deepest truths, offering inspiration about faith, friendship, courage, loyalty, love, and other wisdom of the Bible. She advises us about how to live like Christ and the Harry Potter heroes.

Review Quotes:

“The author takes us skillfully through Harry’s life, showing his growth as a person, his understanding of his purpose, and his many battles agains evil. [And she] takes it further, leading the reader not just into some new insights about Harry’s life, but showing how the story of Jesus is relevant today, and how fiction can encourage and inspire us in our faith. The writing is excellent, the points well made, and I found ti a thought-provoking book: so much so that I didn’t want to read more than two or three sections at a time. It inspired me not just to think in new ways about my own Christian journey, but to re-read the Harry Potter books.” ~ Sue F, Sue’s Book Reviews

“I love this book. I’m definitely putting it on the best books I’ve read this year… I want to buy more copies and give it to people because that’s how important I think it is. We need a book like this.” ~ Danielle Karthauser, Keep Calm and Read On

Author Bio:

Nicole L Rivera, Creative Team Manager for the Harry Potter fansite, MuggleNet, marries faith with fandom in Finding Unauthorized Faith in Harry Potter. A Christ-follower for ten years and Potter-fan for fourteen years, Nicole set out to write a thesis exploring the parallels between the Bible and the Harry Potter series for her Master of Arts in creative writing. She didn’t expect the four-hundred-plus page essay to become a series of ebooks and now a book in a variety of formats.

Nicole has been fascinated with Harry Potter since the summer before her Junior year in High School. By now, she’s re-read the series many times. Once she discovered Christ and began to study the Bible, the parallels between her favorite story and her new favorite story sparked her interest in seeking the Christ-narrative and messages in modern-day tales and using those tales as a way to better understand the Christian faith.

Nicole explains, “I originally entitled this book, The Parable of Harry Potter, because I believe the Harry Potter story is a parable of Christian values and of the Christ-story, whether intended by the author or not. I hope my book will serve as a tool for Harry Potter fans to grow deeper in their faith, or explore faith in Christ for the first time. I consider this book like the great house of Hufflepuff. All are welcome.”

You can find Nicole’s Potter-related articles at, stay up-to-date on her latest projects through her website,, and continue finding unauthorized faith in a multitude of todays fandoms via

Book Review: ‘Triple Dare’ by C.M. Owens

Triple Dare cover

Title: Triple Dare

Published: 27th October 2015

Author: C.M Owens

Who is Corbin Sterling to me? That’s what people always want to know. He was my first friend. He was the love of my life. And he was my only heartbreak. The problem is that I love the big jerk, and I’ve refused to give up our friendship, even if it does mean it’ll eventually ruin me. So, to answer the question… Corbin Fucking Sterling is the Bane of my existence; that’s what he is.

People tell you to learn from your mistakes, but the problem isn’t learning from them; it’s undoing them. I wish I could go back and undo a lot of shit. Maybe then I wouldn’t feel tortured every time Ruby calls me her “best friend.”

This might be the last chance I have to make everything right, but she’s sure as hell not going to make it easy. The games we play will either finally stop, or turn into what I’ve always wanted. This time I won’t fuck it up. Hopefully.

OMG what an emotional rollercoaster you are taken on throughout this book! Your heart gets shattered in so many ways along with Ruby’s and you are begging Corbin to just man up, face his feelings and fix it. Goes down as another off my 2015 Reading Challenge – A book you own but have never read (granted I only had it a week before reading it but I’m counting it anyway).

For a while now we have only ever seen the womanizer that Corbin is but every time Ruby came to town he shut down, turned into a hermit and solely focused on her. You could tell that there was one hell of a story to go with that and I’m glad its finally been told. You also get a glimpse into their past so you can see just where and how Corbin screwed up (in more ways then one) with Ruby and why he needs to pull out all the stops if he is going to get her for keeps this time.

Corbin f**king Sterling has been the bane of Ruby’s existence for so long now. Best friends since they were five he is her achillies heel and even though it kills her emotionally to be close to him, it hurts too much to stay away. Now she is finally back in Sterling Shore for good and it takes Corbin all but a few days to piss her off so much that she isn’t talking to him. All because of a triple dare to break up with her boyfriend – not that she really wanted to stay with him but she needed him as a buffer against Corbin. Through the glimpse into the past you can see just how much Ruby cares for Corbin and how he almost broke her. She is always so guarded around people but seems to only truly be herself when she is and Corbin (takes Corbin a little while longer to realize that he is only really himself when he is around her too). She knows that if he breaks her one more time she might not recover. She just doesn’t realize how much he really cares about her and that she is just as capable at breaking him too.

As soon as they are together they slip straight back into the way they have always been – mainly Corbin being super jealous of anyone so much as looking at Ruby. This also means that the triple dares that they have been playing since they were children gets cranked up a gear, with a few past ones coming back into play to – anyone feel like twerking? The aim of the game is to dare the other with something you know they wouldn’t want to do and if they refuse then they have to hand over their box of secrets to the other player. Neither of them really wants to hand their box over as it would mean the end of the game and in their eyes maybe the end of their friendship because if they no longer want to play then they no longer really want to be with the other person.

Corbin knows he royally screwed up in the past and is willing to do anything and everything he can to get the girl he knew was going to be his even as a child. They were meant for each other and if hadn’t been such an egomaniac as a teenager then they might have been together for real a long time ago. All that has changed though and he finally starts to see things clearly – once he gets her this time he knows he can’t let her go or she might not come back even as a friend.

Have to say that I loved Ruby’s stepmother – special brownies and a beer cocktail make quite a scene. She is invert ally the catalyst that gets Ruby and Corbin past the only hurdle they have had in the past – not being able to have sex. When he drinks something meant for her father he gets quite the reaction and he needs Ruby to help ease things so to speak. It’s either he has sex with her or has to go to the hospital and if he has to triple dare to get it done he will. Wholly hells how hot are they when they come together though and you just can imagine how that piercing he has would come in really handy – five hours of fun anyone! This just makes things that much weirder for Ruby as she doesn’t want to ruin their friendship and starts to think that this might do it. After finally getting the night he has been dreaming about for so long Corbin can’t wait to shout about them but has to refrain, as Ruby wants to keep things quite. He can only hold out for so long though but when a big secret gets reviled it could end up hurting them both too much with how they react and it won’t take long before old patterns start to come in to play.

I still love that characters from the other books still play a major part throughout the rest of the series and Brin and Rye are my favourite at the moment. The pranks they are pulling on each other are just crazy and when you read the short stories at the end about what April Fools day fully entailed for them and what happens at Halloween you will be laughing so much you might cry. Another great sub character that is just fabulous is Bella and I can’t wait to read her story. Bella and predictive text just don’t work (mother clucking phone!). I was wetting myself laughing and even when I tried to tell my mum why I was laughing so much I almost couldn’t tell her. Also get a sneak peak at the next story in line at the end and I am once again chomping at the bit waiting for it. Bo and Jax I have a feeling are just going to be hilarious and very hot together.
