Synopsis:

A Romance Novel by USA Today Bestselling Author Priscilla West

Note: This is the beginning of Vincent & Kristen’s story. You DO NOT need to read any books in the Forever Series before enjoying this one.

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Arrogant. Controlling. Possessive. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t just avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn’t seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.

I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent’s seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.

Review:

It starts hot and fast and just gets better. Sexual tension is high in this hot and steamy read in the sun.

Vincent is not your typical billionaire. He might like surfing and relaxing on a beach but to patronise him by thinking he is a beach bum would be a mistake. He knows what he wants and seems to be the type of man that gets it. Something that Kristen is slowly becoming aware of. Well if you will fall into the guys lap in the middle of a business meeting and grope his chest – or more specifically his nipple ring – then what do you expect.

To begin with Vincent is just looking for some fun hook ups with Kristen but when she makes it clear that she would be looking for more than to just be a casual hook up he pulls out all the stops. From the moment he meets her he wants to get to know her more, to find out what makes her tick. Taking her for a first date to a tropical island to teach her to surf would definitely be up there with a ‘wow’ kind of date. She can come across with mixed signals with him though, she wants him badly one moment but really just wants to go slow the next and he respects. That’s not to mean that he would stop trying to seduce her and if she gave him the green light that he wouldn’t take it. Well blindfold a girl and hand feed her melted chocolate strawberries where she will have to lick and suck your finger and you can guess where it might lead. Fun times in the bedroom but the nightmares that follow throw their relationship into danger when an ex from Kristen’s past comes back to cause trouble.

The chemistry between them is undeniably hot and you can see how Kristen would be drawn to him. But when her past comes back to haunt her she has to think about whether she can really trust him or not. What confuses her most is that not only does he make her feel hotter that any other man before, but he also makes he feel safe, even after only knowing him a short time. She has to learn to trust her feelings if she wants things to progress further in their relationship.

With this being part of a trilogy I was expecting more of a cliff hanger moment at the end where you would be like ‘aaaaaahhhhhhh I need to read the next’. To me it felt more like just the end of the chapter in this one and then the beginning of the next chapter in the next book as it starts off right where this one ends. Still did make me want to read the rest in the series though but thought it could have been more of a shock moment with a big reveal. Looking forward to learning more about Kristen’s back-story and why she would be so scared of her ex coming back on the scene. Also interested to see how Vincent will react with it all. Will he step up to the plate to protect her or will he get out before they get too serious – though it might already be too late for that.
