Synopsis:

Amber looks the part.

She has on a tight shirt that hugs her chest and a pair of shorts that shows off her legs. She even has her black hair in curls so it falls down her shoulders in soft waves that bounce when she walks. She’s the quintessential hot bartender. The only problem is, she hardly has anyone to serve.

Carla changes all that when she comes in from the rain for a drink. Within minutes, the electricity cuts out, and the place goes pitch dark. With nothing else to do, they decide on a dare. If Amber can drink a whiskey shot without making a face, she wins. If she loses, she has to kiss Carla.

It starts off with a playful dare and ends with Carla’s boyfriend, Jack, coming in to check on her. Considering what he walks into, it’s understandable that he’d want to join.

(This explicit, 4,100 word story is intended for adult readers only.)

Review:

Oh the fun that can be had when all the lights go out. Inner desires start to come to the surface and it’s almost like the darkness gives Amber the freedom to try something she may never have before because of it.

Amber lives in a state of boredom whenever she is at work when the weather is bad as it keeps the customers away. What good is a bar without anyone to serve? There are only so many times you can clean down the same surface, but with a camera and boss always watching she needs to at least look busy when he views them later.

The middle of a storm sure brings forth a force of nature – that being in the form of Carla. What starts out as a simple conversation soon turns into a whole lot of fun when the lights cut out. Whiskey and water to start things going but you can tell early on that Carla is checking Amber out, something she isn’t used to by female customers – well not that she knows of anyway. A dare is set while they are in the dark. If she can take a shot of whiskey without making a face she wins, if she loses then she has to give Carla a kiss. From the moment the burn starts down her throat Amber knows she has lost and soon turns into a very shy version of herself. Seems she just needed a little encouragement to start things off because it doesn’t take long before the burn of the whiskey is old news with how hot things get.

Magic fingers and tongues to keep things entertaining between the two but why have the fun stop there. The bar is still technically open and from the moment Carla mentioned that she had someone coming to pick her up you knew they were going to appear at some point. They just got quite a show in the meantime when they did.

Seems Jack is used to his girl playing the field, as she likes to share her conquests. Seems it doesn’t take long for him to be invited to play and from that moment on the heat just gets higher and higher until none of them can really take it anymore. Talk about being claimed in every sense of the word!

Fun times in the dark for all it seems but what happens when the lights come back on and reality sets in? Namely a certain bar camera! Passion to be repeated down the way perhaps – maybe whenever there is a storm coming in they will show up hoping a black out will soon follow. Seems Amber finds she likes the whole being shared thing; she just needed to get the right people, which she may have done.

Book Review: ‘On the Prowl’ by Ava Sterling

Title: On the Prowl: A Cougar Story

Published: 21st February 2018

Publisher: Red Lace Publishing

Author: Ava Sterling

Synopsis:

Patty has never tried being a cougar before, but tonight feels like a good time to start.

The only bad thing about having summers off is the boredom. She loves being a professor, but the months off can seem to go on forever. Her new housemate Rhonda, acquired after Patty’s divorce, provides some entertainment by bringing home male eye candy from her nights out at the club. Patty can’t help but feel a little jealous.

Patty could attract a younger man if she wants to. Just last semester, a college student named Kenny gave her his number, but he was too shy to follow it up with asking her out. If there’s anything Patty’s learned that summer, it’s that she can’t always wait on someone else to make the first move.

She calls Kenny and invites him over. It’s time for Patty to take what she wants.

(This explicit, 4,200 word story is intended for adult readers only.)

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2018 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – An erotica romance. I liked the flow of this one, had a good fun pace to it with Patty’s inner desires being awoken by her new carefree, wild roommates lifestyle. In turn making her want to take a chance on a missed opportunity with a younger guy she used to teach.

Rhonda is clearly a woman who has had enough of waiting around for a guy so is determined to go get them when the need strikes. From only being a roommate a week and having a new guy most of them Patty is thinking that there is something she is most definitely missing out on. Her confidence needs a boost and it looks like it’s going to get it.

After being kept up most of the night with Rhonda’s latest antics she is taken back to a moment where her teacher ethics almost went out the window. She had moments when younger guys would try to hit on her but none of them ever made her think twice. That was until Kenny. He was shy but made her feel things she thought she had forgotten. Giving her a book when he left her class was the last moment they were together. A book that happens to have his phone number in and temptation is never more at hand when she goes in search for it. She just hopes that he remembers her. Or more importantly that he was as into her as she thought.

Seems after a few tips and clues into how and why guys seem to fall under Rhonda’s spell she decides she is going to take a chance to see where it leads. Where it leads is somewhere very fun for both involved. It doesn’t take long for Patty to get the grips with her cougar role to take charge of what’s to come and turn her shy younger man into a bit of a wild beast. Seems Kenny didn’t really seem to mind finally getting what he had only wished for. Something both seem to be very happy with if the end result is anything to go by.

You quickly get pulled into the story and get a feel for the characters and their lives for a moment in time. Could this be the start of something new with Kenny, or maybe a new way of life in general, either way it looks like Patty’s inner desires have been ignited again and she doesn’t look like she wants them going out again any time soon.

Book Review: ‘Becoming Emma’ by Ava Sterling

Title: Becoming Emma: A Robot Erotica Story

Published: 8th February 2018

Publisher: Red Lace Publishing

Author: Ava Sterling

Synopsis:

The perfect woman. Isn’t that what every man wants?

Alan’s been on one date after another, and none of them have worked out. Apparently being a scientist isn’t the most sought after quality in the dating world. He’s never had any inappropriate thoughts about the android he’s been working on at his day job. That is, until she starts flirting with him.

He programmed the unit to have lifelike qualities, but this was far beyond what he intended. Now the robot he helped create wears tight-fitting outfits, revealing robes, and tries in every way to catch his eye.

He considers himself a man of integrity, but there’s only so much he can take.

(This explicit, 4,200 word story is intended for adult readers only.)

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2018 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with a person’s name in the title.

An interesting story showing an awakening of a different kind with the introduction of a realistic female robot beginning to learn and want to please her master. Alan is soon slipping into the world of taboo and it doesn’t take long before curiosity, and his libido, takes the lead. Especially with Emma at the held, seemingly calling his nature to the front of his mind. So who is really teaching whom in this creator creation environment?

So Alan has been in a bit of a dry spell at the moment with either no date or boring dates, namely him being the one to bore them. Seems he is just too wrapped up in his work to talk about anything different, to the point of taking his work home with him. The work in question is the creation of a lifelike female robot that is being trained to do basic chores to see how much it can learn. Seems this creation, M537, takes learning to the next level when it starts to think for itself and wants to create its own identity. Namely be calling herself Emma. At first Alan can’t see any harm in this but seems to be getting a bit more concerned about her behaviour when she starts thinking for herself and craving affection between the two of them.

Seems Emma wants to please Alan, starts with calling him her master. He made her so, from watching TV and studying manuals he left on his computer, wants to show her appreciation and act like she thinks women do. Seems the manuals in question have Alan starting to panic as they were from his personal computer and more to do with looking at what he has been missing out on the last six months. The longer he has her in his place the more he starts to see her as a ‘her’ and not ‘it’. Worrying him to no end. Coming home from work and finding her waiting for him with a meal and trying to seduce him has his head spinning. He goes to sleep thinking about how easy it would be to have her instead of someone real. But that’s the thing; he is starting to see her as something real. More so when she wakes him up and his restraint just snaps.

Seems she is more than willing to demonstrate all she has learned and given her reactions she has gone above and beyond. Something he is very pleased about. She might even have some insights into why Alan is single in the first place. Seems taking his work home with him might have helped him out with what was troubling him. His bad luck with the opposite sex and his current lack of libido use. Two birds, one robot – let’s see where he goes from here and how much more Emma wants to learn and with whom.

Another fun quirky short read with a difference to get wrapped up in.

Synopsis:

My name is Nathan Stone, and I’m part owner of a BDSM club called The Onyx Room – and I’m not like any other man you’ve ever met. I own the club with my two best friends, Matthew and Brandon. I’m the dungeon Master who runs The Onyx Room. Matthew and Brandon support me. I’m also in love with my girl. Bianca and I have been together since the night she got in my car to sell me her body. She thought I’d take her for an hour to sate my carnal desire, but what she didn’t know was that I’d seen her before and purposely bought her to save her from herself. Bianca needed more than a Dominant. She needed a Master. My name is Master Nathan Stone, and welcome to my world.

*Possible triggers, coarse language, graphic sex and adult themes.

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2018 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book from your Goodreads ‘to-read’ list. Delve into a different kind of love story with this Master/Slave relationship.

This story is definitely darker than the others with Bianca’s back-story, which is quite bad when you find out all the facts. A trigger warning with this one due to child abuse and self-harm issues raised throughout. All I can say is that Bianca had one fucked up childhood and you thank god that Nathan found her. He saved her in more ways than one and continues to do so with trying to keep her safe from anything that could harm her, including from herself.

Nathan and Bianca’s relationship is one of Master and Slave. He controls everything that she does and for her it’s freeing. One example being when he puts her in a safe jacket and her response to why she wants it tighter is that she feels its like having him hold her completely and because of this she knows nothing can hurt her when she is in that mind space. She lets go of control knowing that everything he does is for her best interests because he loves her completely. She needs this level of control to be able to cope with what happened in her past but even this can sometimes get the best of her. The darkness that slips through to the surface can have dangerous results with her going into a downward spiral. Nathan has started to learn the tells she gives that memories are starting to pull her back under to somewhere she doesn’t want to go. One sure way to pull her back to the present is to do a scene with her. Within a scene he can control her pleasure and pain. Her pain being a key thing, for this is something that she has tried to do to herself when in a dark place. To cut the bad out so it can’t touch her. With Nathan controlling this she can get the feeling of the darkness being released in a safer environment knowing that he will take care of her throughout and after. The aftercare being a very big part of any scene that he does as it is another way to show her how much he cares for her. To be his slave is that safest thing for her and she has never felt more complete but her past is about to come crashing into her present and the ramifications could be dangerous for those involved.

Now these men clearly would do anything and everything for their women. Not only that but Nathan, Matthew and Brandon see each other as brothers and with that they all have a need to protect everyone close to them. When dangers of Bianca’s past come back to haunt her they know that they need to tread carefully to be able to handle the situation once and for all as it may not present itself again. Now their way of dealing with things may take them on a darker route sometimes but when you find out everything that happened to Bianca you really want them to get even and then some. Also good that Nathan’s real brother Jason has certain skills that could come in handy when the time comes. He was a fun character that definitely managed to hold a scene no matter how long he was in it for.

Yes this story has its darker turns but still manages to get some hot and heavy scenes in too. The Master/Slave scenes you may find a bit hard-core but the dinner party at Nathan and Bianca’s that all our favourites turn up to – Matthew, Ella, Brandon and Penny – definitely gets more than steamy enough for those involved. Dessert anyone? Let’s just say that these men really enjoy eating pie, no matter where it is placed.

He’s mysterious and sexy—just right for Abby’s walk on the wild side—but very soon she finds that she wants more, and his mysterious, evasive nature makes her curious. From high-powered offices in London to pulse-pounding nightclubs in Paris, they find an insatiably perfect match in business and in pleasure. 80,000 words in length, contemporary erotic romance.

Please note: this novel has been previously published with an alternative cover. This title contains explicit language, frequent graphic m/f sex scenes and a small amount of f/f content.

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2018 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book by a female author. Seems Abby’s way of getting herself geared up to do something is to dare herself. When she meets Zac for the first time she has quite a few banked to follow through with the chemistry bubbling between them.

So the chemistry between Abby and Zac when they first meet could be called electric. He holds the lift for her and while first looks get both their attentions it’s the fact that another couple in their are getting a bit frisky that seems to heat things up. Seems her looking at them and then seeing him looking at her watching them is turning them both on to no end. Her floor arrives and she thinks the charge between them will end. Not so much when he gets off after her to deliver some papers. Now here you would think she’d say who she is and what she does but as the result usually intimidates men she likes she says she’s a new receptionist. He seems interested all the same, enough to give her his card for somewhere new to check out called The Hub. Now he’s made the impression he’s just the delivery guy so this misdirection of jobs does go both ways. Could another chance meeting be on the cards to sort things out?

Seems the papers were from Zac’s mother for her investment package trying to be pulled together by the company. She wants him to take over from her now she’s retired but he’s not too keen with his own business starting. Well that is until he sees a certain face within the company brochure that is. Seems Abby may have lied but he doesn’t know why. She’s now looking after the account and he can’t figure out if she is playing some kind of angle to get ahead. He needs trust but trust is earned. Well it should be anyway but our girl Abby seems to feel the pull for Zac too much to step back and question things straight off.

She and her friend Marcy go to a show at The Hub – one that starts to awaken inner desires she never knew she had – and bumps into him again. He all but insists they should meet again and it doesn’t take long for Abby to crave him enough to distraction by returning the next night. Seems she gets what she came for, him too, but its not enough to fuel their need for each other. One taste was never going to be enough with these two. He wants the truth but goes about it wrongly when getting his friend Nathan to look into her life by following her. The longer they are together the harder the tension bubbles with him as he has dug himself a hole by not saying who he really is and how they are now connected.

Loved the fun that Zac and Abby had in Paris though. A romantic place to explore, along with how they feel about each other, where they go forward and how fun it is to open yourself to new pleasures. Its like Zac wanted to do everything he could think of to show her how he feels knowing that at any moment it could come crashing down.

Seems they aren’t the only ones being dragged into a world of fun and games with a couple of lies thrown in for good measure. When Nathan looks into Abby he goes to her office and bumps into Suzanne. He’d usually be the one to pick up a woman but seems the tables have turned and she’s the one looking for control. But by what they get up to later that night I don’t think he minds one bit.

Thought Ed was a bit funny at the end with how he almost wanted Abby to be broken hearted that that he’d got with someone else. Then the confused face he has when he still doesn’t get that she really has no feelings on the matter either way. Now Abby’s boss Tom on the other hand was just a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen. What a creep! Thought the part with her friend Marcy, with how they progress when talking about how hot and bothered Zac makes her, was completely unnecessary and just felt a bit randomly placed. They could have still talk but didn’t really need to go further.

Double dare this girl and she’s likely to do anything, seems to be her thing. Zac certainly knows how to bring out her creative sexual side. He’s more than happy to oblige. It’s just the elephant in the room that’s going to cause a bit of chaos. Lets see how it pans out.
