Synopsis:

When Levi wears his collar, the rest of the world gets a little fuzzy around the edges.

For their six month anniversary, Levi gives his girlfriend, Raleigh, a key to his apartment. Since then, she’s left her soap in his shower and some extra clothes in the back of his dresser. She also added one more item, but it’s one Levi wears…his collar.

Ever since their BDSM lifestyle started, Levi has found a new purpose: pleasing his Mistress. She always took care of him, but most importantly, she always showed him exactly how to please her.

One night, Raleigh gives her submissive a task before coming home with a treat.

(This explicit, 4,600 word story is intended for adult readers only)

Review:

I liked the flow of this one, had a good steady pace to it with the growing anticipation of what’s to come being drawn out. Definitely a story about delayed gratification for Levi. Though I don’t think he minds in the slightest, he clearly loves giving up control to Raleigh. He just wants her to move in so that they will be in a constant state of it I think. He knows that his – like the title suggests – mistress comes first in all things and only if she is satisfied with him will she let him get any kind of release. Once that collar goes around his neck he knows who is in charge and he loves it. He longs to be her ‘Good Boy’ and is willing to do whatever she asks just for the slightest chance of getting a release, whether it is for her, him, or both of them.

Raleigh seems to handle the role of a mistress very well and from Levi’s thoughts you know she has had fun teaching him how to behave just the way she likes it. It’s interesting to see the roles reversed with the woman being in control. You can clearly see that she loves to take care of him but also put him in his place. I’m not sure the ‘punishment’ she gave him was really one he would turn down after his slip up with what to call her. She obviously knows what kind of magic his tongue is capable of.

Fun dynamic between the two of them and it would be interesting to see what would happen or change if he does finally get her to move in with him. Is he ready to wear that cover full time I wonder? If that’s what he longs for than I’m sure she wouldn’t be able to say no for much longer.

Book Review: ‘Rush With Me’ by Ava Sterling

Title: Rush With Me: A Sorority Story

Published: 30th March 2017

Publisher: Red Lace Publishing

Author: Ava Sterling

Synopsis:

Shelby learns just what it takes to join a lesbian sorority.

Being a freshman, she’s never rushed for a sorority before. Even being a cheerleader for two years didn’t prepare her for this. She’s heard rumors of what goes on behind closed doors, but she dismisses them as just that…rumors. There’s no way they’re true.

She’s never touched another girl before, and she certainly doesn’t consider herself a lesbian, but rushing for this particular sorority opens her up to new experiences. This is one night she’ll never forget.

(This explicit, 5,700 word story is intended for adult readers only)

Review:

Well this was a rush with a difference. There are clearly no boundaries between the sorority sisters of Aeaea House. As close as they can get you might say. You can see why their traditions have been kept a secret all this time.

So you have some fresh-faced freshman coming to rush at Aeaea House. A house for sisters, the most coveted on the cul-de-sac. Shelby and Annie are kind of like rabbits caught in headlights when they first enter the house, like many others. If they weren’t nervous before though then they soon will be when the different ‘tasks’ are put to them. Talk about diving in head first, quite literally with some of the things they get the freshers to do. Nothing illegal though, everything’s consensual in this house with each task being a little different than the one before. A kiss might be how it starts for her with the sorority president but things quickly escalate. The overall gist about whether you move on to the next round or not depend solely on when you come in relation to others. Intrigued? You will definitely be asking yourself how badly do these girls want to get into this house? After each round the ones who failed to pass the test have to leave. All Shelby wants to know is whether Annie got through each round like her. A bond has been formed quickly with all the strangeness of the evening unfolding around them. They want to be close to each other for support, whether others like it or not.

You have an interesting mix of characters throughout. From the ones who have seen it all to the freshmen trying to get into the house. It’s funny how calm they are when explaining each test, like it’s the most natural thing in the world to be doing. Seems hidden desires might be making an appearance for Shelby, whether she will continue with them is something else entirely. If nothing else she has made a new friend, one she will be allowed to talk to about the craziness that happen the night they tried to get into Aeaea House.

Book Review: ‘The Bimbo Experiment’ by Ava Sterling

Title: The Bimbo Experiment

Synopsis:

Who said the night shift has to be boring?

David wasn’t looking forward to starting a new job, but it turns out to be anything but dull. The lab where he works as the night security guard is testing an experimental mist, diffused by a humidifier and intended to be a relaxant, but it turns out that it has some very interesting side effects on the women participating in the sleep study.

David resists temptation as long as he can…which turns out to be not very long at all.

(This explicit, 4,100 word story is intended for adult readers only)

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2017 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A short story. Another spicy, fun hot short read to get stuck into. Well these scientists seem to be enjoying the side effects of the drug they are testing and I’m sure the previous night shift guards have been as well. (Well apart from the female guard who left the week before). From the sounds of it though the female subjects seem to be enjoying some of the side effects/benefits too, well you hope so anyway or they wouldn’t keep returning.

David has clearly been down on his luck through bad choices in life and is thinking that this job is too good to be true from the get go. Its great pay and he is left to his own devices – just him and the patients for the night – but something has to give. I find it amusing that when he catches a glimpse of one of the test subjects – a blonde he’d like to see more of – the scientist almost reprimands him on the spot saying that the subjects need the highest level of privacy and confidentiality. Which I find ironic, as he knows exactly what the test subjects – and potentially David – might be up to later in the night once the humidifier drug has been put into the rooms.

This story is really solely based around David as he experiences first hand what the experiment really does to the female test subjects and how he might help them out. You have to wonder at first whether they are aware of what they are doing but it appears that they should be or they wouldn’t keep coming back time and again. A humidifier drug to help with sleep insomnia in female patients, well they definitely find a way to feel relaxed and sleepy after letting all of their inhibitions go. Something that he is indefinitely happy about after being pulled into the room with the blonde he saw earlier. He might have the odd moment of wondering whether she really is ok with what is happening but when she demands his undivided attention to be used until she can’t move another muscle they soon fled.

Calling it the Bimbo Experiment is correct, as that’s exactly what they turn into after being exposed to the drug. Seems after they have exhausted themselves they do sleep soundly, which is what they wanted. The only thing is that if they ever use it at home they will find it easier to have someone with them to get to the stage where they will almost collapse and sleep soundly after experiencing pure bliss for a few hours. I’m sure David is more than happy to be that someone for a while.

Book Review: ‘The Virgin and the Firefighter’ by Ava Sterling

Title: The Virgin and the Firefighter

Published: 9th December 2016

Publisher: Red Lace Publishing

Author: Ava Sterling

Synopsis:

After all these years, Liam better be worth the wait.

Being the artsy band nerd in high school, Abby could only watch as her crush, Liam, barely noticed her. The football star hardly looked in her direction. Now in her 20s, the lust didn’t fade. If anything, it’s stronger. Maybe that’s why she’s still a virgin. Maybe that’s why she’s still waiting.

One night, fate thrusts her into Liam’s arms, and she’ll have to see if she has the guts to go for her first time.

(This explicit story is intended for adult readers only)

Review:

Another fun hot short read to get stuck into. Good pace throughout and mixed things up a bit in that the main characters didn’t just get down to it straight away, drew the story out a little more. Interesting main characters that worked well together but I also liked Abby’s friend Barrett, seems like a bit of a laugh and might be fun to have a story for him.

So Abby is feeling like she has the biggest sign on her head that just screams, “I’m still a virgin”. She does long to get rid of the dreaded card – or punch a hole in it like her friend Barrett says – but she needs to feel something for the guy first. She is not interested in one-night stands but really (like Barrett correctly guesses) it’s that on some subconscious level she was still waiting for her high school crush Liam. Good job he turns up at their local pub then. I did love Barrett’s not so subtle shove to get her over to talk to him. Landing in his chest is one sure way to make an impression, not that Liam seems to mind one bit from the smile on his face when he sees it’s her.

Liam went from schoolgirl crush to town Adonis with the muscles he has put on from being a firefighter. All Abby can do is stare, try not to drool and control her need to blush. Liam clearly wants to make a connection with her, possibly to start something or have some fun as he knows all about her crush. But when she drops her bombshell “I want you to take my virginity” on him he all but chokes. Note to self-Abby next time don’t ask that when a guy is taking a sip of his drink. Feeling somewhat embarrassed she just wants to turn and run but Liam has other ideas. He comes across as a bit alpha male and domineering which is something Abby is loving to the point of almost saying ‘Yes, Sir’, especially when its directed at her. She might not get her man that night but after the kiss goodnight he gives her you can be sure he is coming round soon.

I liked that the chemistry was domesticated closeness while they eat at her place but soon turns into electric heat when he gets her to her bedroom. Its like they both have an urge to protect and care for the other in every area of life. She may have wanted him in high school but from the wild night he gives her you can be sure she’s glad she waited until they were older, you know he’s got a few more tricks up his sleeve for her. Fun times ahead and that’s just the first night, first of many if my vibe is correct.

Book Review: ‘She’s the Boss’ by Ava Sterling

Title: She’s the Boss

Published: 16th November 2016

Publisher: Red Lace Publishing

Author: Ava Sterling

Synopsis:

Kylie discovers that she likes to take charge in the bedroom as well as the board room.

Struggling to keep her magazine company in business and recovering from a recent breakup, she feels high strung. And on top of that, she can’t stop staring at Nick, her magazine’s graphic designer. With the two of them left alone one night at the office, she decides to find out just how well he can take directions.

(This explicit story is intended for adult readers only)

Review:

I liked the flow of this one, had a good pace to it. Kylie’s the boss in more ways than one. She’s a strong confident woman getting her stride back after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend. An opportunity arises when alone late at night in the office with her younger employee Nick. Once he gives her the all clear there is no stopping her from getting what she wants – not that he complains one bit.

Kylie has been without sex for a while since she broke up with her boyfriend so you can see early on that she is a bit frustrated. It doesn’t help that she has a very good-looking younger employee who happens to get her motors running. She just needs to try and put him and his good looks out of her mind and focus on her magazine or it will go under. Its because she is focusing so hard at the end of the day that she doesn’t realise that long after everyone else has gone she is left alone with just him. He seems very eager to please, working late to help out, and this seems to awaken a dominant side to her personality that she didn’t really know she had. Good really as soon she starts to see a submissive side to him. She just has to figure out how to play it to get a good release for both of them.

You can feel the sexual tension coming off both of them. It builds the longer they are left in each other’s company so you know what is coming. Nick clearly wants to please Kylie professionally and personally with how he is around her. I like when he is caught looking at her bending over her desk and stammers a bit when she asks, “do you see something you like?” You can see that he isn’t completely sure how he wants to behave but soon hands over control to Kylie very willingly – not that she is complaining. He might want to submit to her but you see that at times when the passion gets high that he wants to top from the bottom with claiming his own pleasure. But hey at this point Kylie has already gotten off a handful of times so its not like he isn’t owed.

Again with this one, like with most of Ava’s other stories, you get a good feel for the characters and their lives quickly. You step into their world once its already been developed and are viewing it for a moment in time while hoping to return later down that line for an update. With this one you can see it would be the start of something. Kylie might want to control Nick but with her thoughts from earlier in the day you get the impression that she would submit if it meant he would bend her over the meeting desk. Think she likes the idea of being a bit naughty in the office place, but hey its her office.
