Synopsis:

Two very different people.
One scandalous proposition.
Endless possibilities…

I breathe out deeply, shuddering on exhale.

I can’t believe I’m about to do this…

My hand visibly trembles as I try to grip the stupid felt pen, shaking as I bring its pointed tip to the immaculate paper to sign on the line.

From the corner of my eye, I catch Dr. Frost staring at me, his own eyes intent and unwavering, and he’s eerily silent. I can’t even begin to imagine what he’s thinking. I probably don’t even want to know.

I really just need to get this over with before I panic and change my mind again.

I hold my breath as my eyes flutter closed. I feel my hand move on its own accord, gripping the pen tightly.

All it takes is two seconds.

And then it’s done.

I reluctantly open my eyes again and look down at my signature; a mesh of cursive letters sitting on the long dotted line – physical proof that I, Ramona Georgette Gallo, have agreed to the unthinkable.

The deal is sealed.

And there’s no backing out.

Review:

What a way to end a book? Four was good but this one, well, sexual tension galore when you get Ramona and Dex in a room together. Anybody have a match to spark this fire because surely its time it burned?

Start as you mean to go on Dr Frost with your idea of business. His condition on keeping quiet about what she was up to at that party becoming quite clear. My theory that he could be looking for a new sub gets stronger with each book and now this contract deal where she would be his for a determined amount of time for a large sum of money is on the table things are about to get interesting. Ramona may have told him no but the countdown has only just begun. 30 days to decide if she is going to sign and be his. Her reaction to him is so strong whenever he is near that its clear she wants him already. In a way you have a feeling she already is, she just needs to say yes. She may want him but the fact that he is married plays a big part in her holding back, well that and selling herself that is. Though the more she goes over the contract and reads what he would want to do to her the more she gets turned on. To the point where she feels she wants to submit to him the more dominating he acts. He wants her and it seems willing to do whatever it takes to get her. Seeing her at the party and finding that she wanted to work for Rainbow escorts is just a means to an end with getting her and giving her what she desperately needs in the process, and not just money.

Not as much interaction between them with this one as it’s more to do with the countdown she faces and her inner monologues. (Really wish we could get into Dex’s head too, now that would be interesting.) The debts of her grandmother and her medical bills are only getting higher but when her grandmother gets ill things are starting to sway more to yes than no. Though is the need for money just an excuse to say yes? She also seems to be getting attention elsewhere from the school hottie Jamie and Trixie’s brother Drake. She can’t seem to figure out if they are playing a game or bet of some kind as can’t see why they would be interested. Or more to the point from the moment she met Dr Frost she no longer ‘sees’ other guys.

With how book one started you know the answer to whether she signs on the dotted line or not but its the getting there that’s fun. Hold on to your hats because I think we are soon about to see Dr Frost’s true dominating side in the bedroom. Well fingers crossed anyway because I’m not sure how much longer I can wait. Mr. dark, domineering, mysterious, sexy man that he is needs to come out and play. She’s about to submit to your will so lets see where you take it from here.

My eyes burn.

Really badly.

They’ve been burning since yesterday morning, ever since my eyes landed on what was inside that damn folder. And they continued to burn through today’s morning practice and all my classes.

And they’re still burning now, probably even more than they were before as I stomp through the main hallway of the surgical center.

“Excuse me, Miss, you can’t go through there,” I hear a female voice call after me, but I don’t stop.

“Miss, office hours are over. You cannot go in there!” she repeats.

Her words still don’t stop me. I can’t stop. Not when I’m cranky and pissed off and the very cause of my crankiness and anger is right here in this building. I hear her shuffle behind me, presumably to chase after me. But I still keep going.

I didn’t sleep last night. I couldn’t. At all. Not even for a little bit. And now my feet won’t stop moving. My fingers won’t stop twitching. And my fucking eyes won’t stop burning behind my glasses.

I ride up the elevator and bend into a familiar corridor, practically stomping the entire way there, and I push the door open without a second thought. My eyes immediately land on my target.

Dexter fucking Frost.

Review:

Well we left off with Ramona in Doctor Frost’s arms after she stumbles into him. It’s at this point she pretty much has an out of body experience as she has no idea how to react with the situation she’s suddenly found herself in. He is clearly there as a guest and with one look at her outfit he knows exactly why she’s there. And putting it mildly, he’s not happy about it. I’m getting a bit of a jealously vibe coming off him from then on when other males are around or it may be a bit of a alpha male pissing contest as to who can claim her. With Doctor Frost definitely wanting to be that male. She likes his hand on her at one point and then wants it gone the next. The mix of emotions running through her mind is high enough without his condescending attitude that comes her way. He goes right for the kill with saying people wouldn’t want to find out about why she’s there. Its funny how he first says that her brother Danny wouldn’t like it. Its like he’s under the impression that they are close and he gets a bit confused when she pretty much laughs this off, definitely a story there. Well that’s before he mentions her grandmother. Its here we see her anger full force – hello slap! Hope it hurt his face as much as her hand. Doesn’t stop him from pursuing her and wanting to be her ticket home though. One she is favour of to escape the likes of creepy Mitch, but when Mindy shows up she’s not sure what to do. From the look on Mindy’s face only one option is correct. Seems her and Dex go way back, something that annoys Ramona and then she’s annoyed that she’s annoyed because she shouldn’t be thinking about him that way anyway. Like I said, very mixed emotions whenever she is within a few feet of this man.

Well I was right with my theory about how she would be hired to work with Rainbow escort agency. Now the ball has most definitely started rolling. Much more interaction between both Ramona and Doctor Frost this time around which was great. His condition for keeping quiet about why she was at that party is the start of where the fun is going to begin. Can’t wait to see when she will crack. He temps her like no other and the more dominating he acts around her the more she just wants to jump him. Well submit and have him take her anyway he wants her. Which if he’s hoping is going to be very soon. Oh the chemistry is there and I loved that we finally got to see more of a back and forth relationship starting with them. He can get on her nerves very quickly and she’s not afraid to tell him where he can stick his words. Well the afraid/turned on feeling does come rushing back but not until Monday rolls around when she storms into see him. Sexual tension rising to boiling point the longer they talk/argue. I so wanted him to back her up against the wall to kiss her – she would not have complained. Though I’m pretty sure he wants her to come to him. All about her submitting to what is going to happen. Well from book one we know where they are headed and now we are one step closer to seeing how it all unfolds. So lets get ready to see the delectable sexy doctor in action with the woman he’s clearly wanted from the moment he met her. Looking for a new secret sub perhaps? Lets see if she fits into the roll for him. Let the countdown begin.

My feet are immediately frozen in place, almost as if they’ve been physically cemented to the floor. My legs feel foreign, like a pair of oversized ice blocks, their weight suddenly too heavy for the rest of my body.

A surge of ice shoots through them and flares throughout the rest of my body, making an especially notable impact as it slithers through my spine, and I know it’s not because of the onslaught of cold wind now blowing over me.

Icy blue eyes keep me paralyzed and mute for several moments, and I swear my voice just left with the last gust of wind that came my way.

I feel my eyelids stretching themselves to the point of discomfort in an effort to accommodate the quickly-widening eyeballs within them. I’m even unable to blink as I behold the tall, imposing man standing at my grandmother’s doorstep.

Review:

Now things have started to get a bit more interesting. You start with Ramona being somewhat shocked by Dr Frosts appearance at her grandfathers memorial, even more so when its clear her grandmother doesn’t know him. What’s more interesting is that Liam and him seem to know each other and not in a friendly way. There has to be an interesting story between them. I can just tell that Liam is going to be some kind of snake with the vibe that’s coming off him but will have to wait and see.

So after the emotional day Ramona has had all she wants is to sleep but when she comes across some letters her grandmother has been hiding that’s the last thing she can do. Seems she needs money more than ever and not just for her medical expenses. This reason alone leads her to make a decision that will lead her down a road she never thought she’d go. While going down this road she bumps into another side character and this helps create a good sub plot within the main story. Nicole a work colleague might have just the answer she’s looking for with the money front and Rainbow is the key. Love the interaction between them with how she is trying to get her so far out of her comfort zone to even be able to consider this. So far out that she has to talk herself round at one point to see it through. Its at this point where we bump into a certain someone with blue eyes and I have a feeling I know she’s going to catch his eye from then on. She may get the job but I have a feeling it will come with only one client. One that might want to keep her but we will have to wait and see. Angry eyes or smouldering eyes, I can’t decide what she’ll see. What ones do you think he will show first?

Much more interaction between characters this time around, which I liked more as you are starting to see it evolve into something interesting, especially with the sub plots. Cliff hanger ending again but that’s the style of the series and if you didn’t think he was going to appear while she was at a certain type of party then you must be blind. This may be a recurring theme though that she always bumps into him at the end. Hope it changes up a little or it may be a bit repetitive.

I lower my own eyes with record speed—speed that I honestly didn’t think they possessed, darting my gaze away from his with a quickness when I catch him staring at me so intently.

My heart picks up its pace and refuses to slow down even little bit, even when I silently beg it to.

I feel extremely nervous.

He’s making me extremely nervous, and I don’t know why.

“Lift up your shirt,” he says suddenly, and my eyeballs damn near switch places.

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2017 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with a number in the title. Short and sweet again with this story, roll on the next in the series I say. Again this is a series where each book will leave on a cliff-hanger/chapter break so you will need to read them in order to get a better feel for it as a whole.

So we start right where we left off with Ramona almost speechless after meeting Dr domineering hottie Foster for the first time. One look and a few choice words and she almost turns into a puddle right in front of him. He may be just doing a physical exam of her to see what’s wrong but it feels much more intense. Well on her side that is with the way he is making her feel. She may start to think he is having a slight reaction too after she stumbles into him when he presses too hard on her stomach and her leg ends up brushing against something rather hard. Or it may just be in her head as – other than his rather domineering voice – he is a complete professional. The meeting still manages to shake her up though and it’s not just about the costs of what she needs to have done. If her suspicious pain wasn’t causing her enough grief she is also coming up to the one-year anniversary of her grandfathers death. As she seems to be the only nice granddaughter she is the only one around to help her grandmother. Her stepsiblings, even though we don’t actually meet them, seem like quite spiteful people who you probably wouldn’t want to be around. That also goes for a certain someone who shows up late after the service at her grandmothers. There’s just something about him I don’t like the look of and we only see him talk to Ramona for like a minute. I also think its going to be pretty obvious who is going to be at the door next! Well here’s hoping anyway because I want them alone together again. I have a feeling I know what might start them off on the road to seduction but will have to wait and see.

Again the book has a lot of description in it more than character dialogue but it helps create a better understanding of what they’re doing and why they act a certain way. Chemistry is simmering just below the surface I feel and its (hopefully) not going to take too much more to push them over together. Umm… doctors’ office for a private check up needed ASAP I think.

I can’t believe how different things are now; how complicated my life has become in such a short amount of time.

It was never supposed to be like this.

He’s off limits.

He’s always been off limits.

I keep telling myself that; that being here with him is not supposed to feel this good.

God, he’s not supposed to feel this good.

I wonder what my life would have been like now if I had gone to the clinic on a different day, or if I’d just insisted on going with the physician I was initially referred to.

Never in my life would I have thought that in the events that followed the beginning of a regular school week, a random checkup would end up spawning a highly angst-filled, incredibly confusing, and quickly-unfolding mess.

Feast your eyeballs and fall absolutely head over heels in love with Eme Strife’s new sizzling, intriguing, incredibly sexy, and captivating story that joins the recent New Adult contemporary romance serial tradition of Deborah Bladon, H.M Ward, and Brooke Cumberland. Each installment will keep you strapped to the very edge of your seat and constantly guessing on one hell of an emotional roller-coaster. You’ll never think of the phrase Doctor-Patient Confidentiality in the same way ever again.

This story unfolds over several volumes. IT IS NOT A STANDALONE. This is the first book.

Review:

Goes down as another off my 2017 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book you heard about from Goodreads. Prologue is very hot and steamy so you get an idea of where the characters are going to end up, you just have to wait around for that to happen.

Short and sweet with the story itself but the author manages to set the scene with how it will flow together and continue within the rest of the series. Ramona is on her way to a very early classical vocal practise where she is the lead vocalist and lead pianist, something others aren’t too pleased with. While there though she starts to get this pain in her stomach, something that has come on stronger over the past few weeks. You can see clearly how some in her class love the fact she is messing up and in pain, clearly a tough crowd. She knows she needs to go to the doctors but has a fear, the reason behind which we don’t know just yet.

From the start you know what Ramona and Doctor Deter will eventually get up to but you have to keep guessing at how it will come about. I mean they meet by a chance of fate because of a stomach pain problem she has been having. The first time they meet you can feel a dominating presence coming off him and she ultimately starts to turn into a submissive role, she even lowers her eyes. Though this might have more to do with her not being able to keep looking at him and not focusing on how he is making her feel down south. You get a glimpse into the classical world she is in for college and know she has had pain in her passed but are left in the dark as to what. Whatever it is it’s the one reason she says she will never fall in love. A fate worse than death for her but I’m thinking that even though her future might be uncertain with someone who shouldn’t really be hers her feelings might start to change. Whether that’s for the better is still to be seen.

Not much interaction between the characters as the book had more of a descriptive feel to it. Not so much a cliff hanger ending more like book on pause before starting the next chapter. As there are a few in the series I feel that it’s going to become a pattern style. Which is good to know going in so you don’t feel so shocked that it just ended.
