Let’s say you’re an independent, self-sufficient woman who runs the family company and you find yourself falling for your little brother’s best friend. Now, more than ever, you need to count all the reasons why you need to abandon falling.
Abandon Falling #1 – He’s a womanizer. Hasn’t had a serious relationship a day in his life and changes women more often than he changes his sheets.
Abandon Falling #2 – He’s never serious. He cracks one-liners, mostly at your expense.
Abandon Falling #3 – When things go wrong, he seems unfazed and always remains in control. It’s so annoying.
Abandon Falling #4 – He has tattoos. Lots of them. Everywhere. Not to mention, he owns a tattoo parlor. (Damn it! Why doesn’t that sound like a bad thing anymore?)
Abandon Falling #5 – There’s a growing list of how different you two are. You can’t get along for fifteen minutes—a lifetime together would land one of you in prison.
Keep repeating those reasons and drown yourself in work. Pretend you don’t notice his good qualities or how enticing he looks without a shirt, and do not, I repeat, do not agree to live with the man while your place is being repaired from flood damage.
Trust me, even the strongest of us can only forego temptation for so long.
Goes down as another off my 2019 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book that made you laugh out loud. Mainly when Dori is in the picture but Savannah had her moments too.
So it seems that something did happen with Savannah and Liam after Holly and Austin’s wedding. One very heavy make out session back at his. Well she was heading there anyway with having to stay until her place is fixed up so Buzz Wheel shouldn’t have too much to write about. Yeah right how long before we get a few more interesting stories? Thing is since said make out session Savannah has tried to keep her distance, which is hard as she’s living with him and her brother Denver. They run hot and cold right from the get go – well more like since they met – knowing just the right buttons to push. A plan to date other people to get them off their minds doesn’t work so well, only makes them want each other more – jealous much.
Since her parents deaths Savannah has always felt like she has to be put together all the time to look after everyone and the business. In the process she lost who she is along the way. Liam is starting to crack her resolve making her want to lose herself in him and not have to take care of everyone and everything. Though with how hot and cold they run that was always going to end in disaster with the angle Liam was playing. He sure knows what to say to cut deep. Hurts more, as she knows he’s right. Note to self – make sure microphones are off before you get hot and heavy and have a major shouting match.
After a much-needed apology Liam has a plan to get Savannah back to the girl she was before the weight of the world was put on her shoulders. He just needs her to give him a small amount of time each day for a few weeks to see if he can help her. She might not think she can change but he’s willing to prove her wrong, he just needs her to trust him. Physical attraction is there in spades but can an emotional one be pulled out too? Time alone will tell, so it’s a good thing Denver is off for a while, empty house to have some fun in.
OMG I loved it when Savannah threw Denver out of the house so she could be with Liam – the threat she gave him too so he wouldn’t say anything was hilarious. Don’t get between this girl and her guy when she finally decides to give the green light. Think he might need to be scarce for a few days while these two getting better acquainted. The heat they create when in close contact is enough to melt the snow outside. Man alive were they hot for each other. She wants to keep things quiet for now but how long before Liam gets annoyed about being a secret? He thinks she is ashamed to be dating him; she needs to show him otherwise.
Another great read from a brilliant series that hooks you from the first few pages. Classic Dori, loved how when there was a chance Savannah would leave Liam’s and go to Juno’s her place suddenly had termites and needed a place to stay. Denver is a right laugh, can’t wait to get in his head. Group Bailey chats are the best, love the connection and closeness they have. Can’t wait to continue the series so on to the next I say.
If you get the author’s newsletter you would have the link to a bonus scene for the book. OMG I loved it so much. I think it ties with the tattoo scene as my favourite Savannah and Liam moments. So much of a connection between them forming and staying for good I hope.
