Reagan is the one who got away – or should I say the one I drove away? Now, four years later, she’s back to manage the gym where I train. Seeing her everyday is a distraction I can’t afford. I’m so close to achieving the big payoff I’ve been working for. Nothing’s going to keep me from winning this belt – not even her.
This is a second chance MMA romance standalone.
Four years ago Noah, aka No-No, made a mistake with the one that got away, Reagan his ray of sunshine. Now she’s back to run her fathers gym – the one he trains at – he knows he can’t stay away this time and it’s not long before he wants his second chance. He has been training for the chance to be a MMA fighter champion and knows his focus needs to be on the fight coming but with her back you know that focus is soon to slip, something Jimmy – his trainer and Nora’s dad – is not going to be happy about. Jimmy might have been able to manipulate him when he was younger to make a certain decision but those days are over.
They sure know how to go from zero to 100 in the chemistry heat-o-metre. Work out at the gym anyone? Ray gets quite the seeing to by Noah. Can she trust him with her heart again? He broke her once but will he do it again if she lets him get close. She’s not sure if she will survive it a second time. Running her fathers gym she knew Noah would be there but hoped she would have more time to prepare herself for seeing him again. Seems he has only got hotter and there’s only so much a girl can take. Especially when it seems he wants to direct that hotness right at her alone. He’s not really giving her an option as once he really thinks about what he wants his future to be he can only think of her in it. He may want the champion title but he is only just starting to realize that he wants her more. Lets hope she’s ready for what’s to come.
Flashbacks cutting back and forth between were an interesting way to show more of how they got together in the first place, how they split and how memories from both might help them find there way together now.
Chemistry is seen a mile off between these two, even when they don’t talk. She can feel his eyes on her when she walks through the gym. She’s like a presence he can feel and once he sees her it takes great measure to pull his eyes away. Seems the moment they connect again everything else falls into place but is she the one playing a game this time? Her friend drunkenly seems to think so and I did think more could have been done with expanding that part. If not tension with Noah and Reagan then with Reagan and her friend. All in all though another great sport romance read that is sure to get the pulses racing throughout.
