Dr. Quinn Jameson has secured his future by immersing himself in his career, but no amount of money in the world can ease his loneliness. Polar bear shifters aren’t pack creatures, but his soul craves more out of life. When a feisty, female tiger shifter begs him for help, he’s unable to resist and finds himself embroiled in a dangerous situation.

Aubrey Celine is in a bad spot. Pregnant and on the run, she’s out of options until she wakes up in the hospital under the care of a delicious-looking Doctor. Can she trust another man after what her ex has put her through? Or has her heart frozen solid?

In the midst of an epic blizzard, these two strangers must rely on each other to stay alive, but every time they’re alone, the heat between them could melt the ice caps. How far will they go to avoid getting frost bite?

Well who is up for some shifter fun on a winter night? Aubrey may be on the run but it seems romance might still be on the cards. Well Quinn’s hoping anyway after one sniff of her delectable scent.

Aubrey, a tiger shifter, is on the run from her psycho ex Alex, a lion shifter, who has held her captive ever since he found out she was pregnant. At the first glimpse of freedom, she was taking it. Even if it meant heading out into a storm with no direction in mind other than to get as far away as possible. She may have gotten further but a car accident causes her to go off road and end up in hospital. But everything has a silver lining it seems as fate put her into the path of a rather dishy doctor.

Quinn, a polar bear shifter, always seemed to prefer to stay in his research lab to being on call. That is until a patient falls into his care that he feels compelled to help and protect. Well the protecting part comes easily to handle, what he can’t seem to get his head around is how he can also be so turned on in her presence. Especially with her being very pregnant – almost ready to pop. With danger on their tails though he needs to get her some place safe. Once she is he can address the pull of attraction they both feel. Being a shifter helps with sensing when the other is turned on but they do need to keep their heads in the game as it looks like Alex isn’t going to give her up without a fight. Good job he’s a kick-ass polar bear then isn’t it!

Book Review: ‘120 Proof Honey’ by Becca Fanning

Title: 120 Proof Honey (Books 1-5, BBW Bear Shifter Moonshiner Romance)

Published: 16th November 2016

Author: Becca Fanning

Facebook: www.facebook.com/AuthorBecca

The Complete 120 Proof Honey Series here just for you! Contains the following stories:

Daxton: Blair Mason was a woman with a one-track mind, and that track was work. From sunrise to sun down, all she thought about was how to keep her small town grocery store open. That meant hard decisions, the type Blair was in the midst of making when she was rudely interrupted by a tall man. A tall handsome man. Oh, there were things other than work after all!

Daxton Holt thought getting his honey on Mason’s shelves would be simple. Walk in, flash a smile and fill out some paperwork. But this owner was something else. She saw right through his charms, pushing him to really sell his product. He liked that, and he liked her. A feisty little minx is sweeter than any honey his bees made…

Knox: Jasmine has always known that life wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair that all her hard work keeping a home wasn’t appreciated. It wasn’t fair that none of that time counted as “experience,” but she was desperate so she had to take whatever there was. Stepping off the bus, she reminded herself that life didn’t have to be fair, but it did have to be survived. As soon as she laid eyes on the handsome man who answered the door, she remembered something she’d suppressed for a long time: life had it’s sunny moments as well.

Knox Ryker didn’t really like this whole idea of getting a housekeeper. Yes, five guys living together could take it’s toll on a place. Yes, Dax’s new girlfriend had a point: it was a pigsty. But having a stranger come over to root through your things just didn’t feel right. But once he laid eyes on Jasmine, he had feelings of a totally different sort.

Amir: Just get in, get the scoop, and get out. Kora Lane stepped out of her air conditioned car and into the blazing heat of this muggy Ozark valley. Her boss had sent her down here to sniff out a story: a local honey harvester was producing illicit moonshine on the side. The tip came in from an anonymous source, but she never passed up a juicy tip. Now she just had to get past this gorgeous mountain of a man that answered the door…

Amir Thorne was a man with a secret. No matter how low key he tried to play it, there was always a type of woman who could sense it. Usually they took his disinterest as a clear signal to move on. But every now and then, you’d get one that just wouldn’t let go. As soon as he saw Kora, he knew what type she was…

Beck: Don’t put that in your mouth. Don’t push your brother. Please stop crying. Harmony just needed to get through this day of nannying. The little boogers in her charge were turning their trip to the county fair into a competition of who could cause a migraine the fastest. She spotted a honey stand and thought a few sweet treats might win her a moment’s respite. She spotted the owner of the stand and thought about something other than honey…

It wasn’t that Beck hated kids: he just wasn’t used to them. All the crying, the erratic behavior and the tantrums were just too much. He had a feeling his reluctance on the topic of children was why he and his girlfriend of four years had to call it quits. There are some things you just can’t compromise on, no matter what.

Slade: Veronica Harper was ready to let bygones be bygones. She’d spent enough years fighting tooth and claw to know that nobody won in a drag out brawl. It was better for all parties to come to the peace table. But being the leader of a Bear Shifter Clan meant many things, the most important of which was to be the kind of leader that the rest of the Clan would follow. That meant never losing face. Even if the person you’re staring down is a handsome hunk with more charm than he realizes.

Slade Walker knew things were tense. This Clan rivalry was close to spilling into a war, and he didn’t know how many casualties would be on each side. Too many, surely. But these women just wouldn’t leave his Clan alone.

Goes down as another off my 2017 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with food or drink in the title. Short and sweet like the honey these bear of men sell. Who doesn’t love a good bear shifter romance? This happens to be a 5 in 1 deal. Seems shifters are known about but not many people believe the stories. Seems a few women are about to learn fantasy is reality when this clan shake things up.

Daxton: A bear selling honey products, sounds perfect right, I mean they sure know their stuff. Now if they could just find somewhere to sell it they’d be laughing. Blair’s store is in trouble with a new shop opening in town selling products cheaper. She needs to find a new hook to get the sales rolling back into her direction. Could smooth talking Daxton and his ideas be the solution? A business meeting soon turns to a dinner date – well with the chemistry bouncing around you can see why. Things soon get heated, though for a very different reason. They sure are hot and heavy very quickly. A spicy couple getting sweeter the longer they are together.

Knox: The clan is in need of a cleaner for five very messy bears – how hard could that be? Jasmine is about to find out. Good job ones caught her eye, as she has his, as trouble is brewing with her ex Darius. No matter what Knox says it seems bees aren’t always friend to all. They might be good for honey but not so much when they are drowsy and feel like stinging. Jasmine is timid to begin with around the men, with good reason, but it doesn’t take Knox long to put her at ease. Jasmine is safe and cared for in every way with this loveable guy who takes his time to please his lady. You get to see all the other guys too, which was good.

Amir: Kora’s boss wants a good story about illegal moonshine from a tip they’ve had but it looks like she’s going to get something a whole lot wilder. Amir seems like such a sweetheart. A loveable giant who is only too happy to answer any and all of Kora’s questions – well within reason. She’s good at finding secrets but he’s better at keeping them. Though this time I feel he wants to let someone know. He has seen his other two clan mates find love and now he wants that too. Here’s hoping Kora’s ready cause he’s looking her way. Why if she doesn’t let slip their secret that is. Wildest couple in the sack so far. Seems the rival clan is getting bolder with trying to sabotage them. Lets see what they do next.

Beck: A chance meeting at a fair while babysitting three little terrors sees Harmony try to distract them with honey sticks. The honey might be distracting the boys but it’s the man selling them that’s distracting her. A spark of chemistry soon turns into a date. Well when Beck eventually makes the first move that is. Seems he’s been out of the dating game a while so is nervous and doesn’t want to mess it up. Super sweet but nothing is ever smooth sailing with these bears. He’s keeping his secret and it seems Harmony is keeping one of her own, her son Logan. They both have fears to overcome to get what they want but once they do you know it will be good.

Slade: Slade and his clan have had about enough of the all female rival clan that has been causing them none stop trouble since they moved in two and a half years ago. Things are escalating so something needs to give. When he and Knox go to scout out their property he gets a shock when he spots the alpha. One look and its all he can do not to charge her, and so not for a negative reason. He wants her and is only just starting to see the benefits to a shifter-shifter relationship. Would be fine to start something if the rest of her clan wasn’t causing problems. Seems there’s a lot of tension in their camp with Veronica’s alpha status being questioned. She needs to step up and take charge to get what she wants. The same goes for how to handle Slade – not that he minds. You know they will be wild together, two alphas dominating to see who gets on top, but fighting is on the cards first it seems between the clans. Can they work together or will they tear each other apart?

Fun short wild reads to chill out with. These bears are loveable beasts just looking for their other halves. Doesn’t take them long to find them. Some insta-love connections seemed a bit fast but its all good in the end. Whose up for some sweet honey products? I know a place to go.

Bounty hunter Cole Jackson is a legendary predator, even among werebears. His talents make him the perfect choice to head up the bond enforcement division of Ursus Security Solutions. But when Ivy’s file lands on his desk, he takes one look at her and thinks Christmas just came early. She might just be the fugitive he wants to capture and keep for himself. Can Cole keep Ivy safe and help all her Christmas wishes come true?

SURPRISE! During the holiday season only, when you download Bear for Christmas, you get Christmas with the Billionaire (Holiday Encounters Book 1) included as my gift to you!

Goes down as the first off my 2017 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with a bear on the cover. Though really it’s the man behind the bear that you really want to be looking at.

Ivy has been on the run from her father – and the men he’s sent after her – for a month. Since a child she has had premonitions and thought her father only kept her sheltered out of love and to protect her from harm. When a new gift started to appear she got a wake up call to what her life was really like and what her father’s plans for her really were. She now has the ability to go into someone’s mind and read the thoughts and emotions within. Taking a look into her fathers didn’t turn out the way she’d hoped. It appears that from the moment he found put she had the gift of premonition he has been using her as a science experiment he could make money from. The government would see her as a highly sort after commodity, one that would create a lot of money for her father. Not wanting to be there a moment longer she ran. She may be able to outsmart the men he sent after her with her gifts but when the man from her dreams appears within a premonition she has to wonder if she really wants to outrun him.

Cole is a bear shifter, one hired to track her down for her father. His company has been used as a last resort due to the lack of results from the others searching for her. At first he can’t see a reason to take the case on himself and plans to pass it along to a colleague. That all changes after he takes a look at the picture of the woman who is missing. One look and his bear charges right to the surface, to the point of causing a shift. Seems his bear and him are agreement that she’s their mate. He knows that he’s the only person who will find her – tracking is his thing. Something about the file on her doesn’t quite fit for him though. After she gives him a bit of a run around he comes home to regroup. Seems fate likes to play a hand in this little cat and mouse game as who just happens to be sitting at his local dinner, none other than Ivy. Perhaps if he figures out what is really going on he can keep her, something his bear is dying to do.

Ivy senses him before she sees him and for but a moment wants to believe in knights and fairytales and live in the moment with her dream man. At a loss as to where to stay, no hotels close by, he offers his place due to the snow coming in fast. With heavy snow they will be blocked in but it also means the others after her can’t get close either. Seems she likes that he is giving her a few firsts. First date, first bear shifter she’s met and if she plays her cards right first kiss. It just takes one to kick start a fun lot of firsts (then first seconds, thirds and so on) but when a premonition kicks in and shows her a future she wishes were false her romantic bubble might just burst. She must never forget that danger from her father is just a step away. Well that is unless Cole can get is furry butt in order and get her out of it.

Two books in one which was cool but I would have liked it to be a bit longer and for Cole to ‘bear out’ protecting Ivy in some way or another. Didn’t feel too much like a shifter read more just a heated snowed in romance. They sure found some fun ways to warm up while it was cold outside.

This December, snuggle up with 10 BRAND NEW romantic rescue stories! From literal heroes in the snow, to the bad boy whose soul is saved by love. These sexy stories will burn up your e-reader while melting your heart.

KISS OF ICE by Kayleigh Malcolm

WINTER’S STORM by Gracie Meadows

SNOW ANGEL by Rose Nickol

SNOW-KISSED by Lizabeth Scott

What a great selection of hot little stories. Something for everyone here to get the pulses racing and blood pumping when reading about snowy weather. When caught out in bad snowy weather I know I’d call on these men to come to my rescue.

Being a shifter helps with sensing when another is turned on but they do need to keep their heads in the game as it looks like Alex isn’t going to give her up without a fight. Good job he’s a kick-ass polar bear then isn’t it!

Kelsi kind of lives the life of a hermit out in a cabin near the forest. Being a writer she prefers solitude to all the attention she has been receiving of late – especially from an unwanted fan turned stalker, who may be closer than she thinks. After being dropped off home by her brother she knows a snowstorm is coming in so plans to just hunker down for the next few days. What she doesn’t expect is a total stranger to crash into her electricity pole at the end of her drive. Then end up having to carry said unconscious man back up to her house. If she thought that was the strangest thing to happen that week she was in for a shock when he wakes up.

Jace has no memory as to how he got to Kelsi’s house let alone state, as it appears he crossed it. After finding out that his truck is totalled he knows he is isolated with Kelsi. It’s funny how they both seemed to want to confirm that the other wasn’t going to be a danger to the other. The only danger first off is the sexual tension slowly building. With the power going out you know they will have to think up some other ways to stay warm – fun ways that is. But the little matter of how he got there is still front and centre as a problem for both of them and with Kelsi being a writer she needs to know the story. When strangers turn up though she may be wishing otherwise.

Kelly finds herself in a bit of a pickle when turning on the news after she gets home from work. It seems that some diamonds were taken from the store. She knows she didn’t do anything wrong but an uneasy feeling comes over her when she looks into her bag. Her feeling was right as it seems the diamonds are inside, put there by another member of staff. Thinking she can just return them quickly and that the whole mess can be dealt with swiftly she doesn’t expect the real person who took them to blame her before she has the chance to explain. Panicking she leaves to head straight home. Only trouble with this is that the storm has come on quicker than she thought and a bit of ice is all it takes to get her car to nose dive into the stream by her place. Go job a nosey dog called Jasper finds her and brings along someone to pull her to safety – a past love it seems.

With the storm brewing all Jake wants to do is stay inside to keep warm but with having two dogs he knows they will need to go out at some point. Good job too really as Jasper is the one that finds Kelly’s car upside down in the stream. Jake’s heart is in his mouth when he sees that someone is trapped inside. More so after he gets her out and realises that he knows her. Getting her out of the car was one thing but when she insists he return for her bag he knows something’s not right. His childhood romance is in front of him again but he can tell she is hiding something. He knows she’s in trouble and is willing her to trust him to help. Being so close together after so much time apart the chemistry soon comes crashing back around them. When the power goes out a bed by the fire seems the only way to warm up, well among other ways they soon start to discover. She needs to open up soon though as the little matter of him being a cop could get her in deeper trouble if he finds out by himself.

KISS OF ICE by Kayleigh Malcolm

Alice’s day doesn’t start well with falling down an ice sheet into a seemingly never-ending black hole. Seems her luck is in though – or maybe someone was looking out for her – as she lands on a shelf. Never one to panic, well not straight away, she knows she needs to come up with a plan of how to escape. Going back up doesn’t seem much of an option with how bad her side and arm hurt from the fall so she decides to walk around to see if there is another way out. While looking she stumbles across something – or rather someone – she didn’t expect. A man frozen in a wall of ice, one who doesn’t stay frozen for long it seems. It may seem by chance that she fell there but I think fate had a bigger hand in it, that or the gods.

Erik is immortal and one of Odin’s warriors, though after so much war he grew tired of the fighting and decided to pursue a more baser male instinct, one that got him in trouble. He had a curse put onto him by a witch, one where if he touches someone they will turn to ice and freeze to death. His hope was that he could keep himself frozen until the witch that cast the spell died, thinking that would break it. Things don’t quite go to plan though as it seems he has woken up early by the last person he thought would come – his forever mate. Seems fate has a twisted sense of humour with them not being able to touch. Well that is until Alice finds a loophole when they stumble upon a hot pool within the cavern walls. It may be a hot pool but they seem to be able to make it scorching. But they can’t stay in there forever, no matter how much they want too, and with the witch still lurking there is no telling when she might return and what danger she might bring. Thor the god of thunder might approve of their romance but the witch who cursed him not so much.

Some women will do anything to get the attention of their ex’s. Even going out in the middle of a blizzard so they would be forced to rescue them. Lori just can’t accept that her relationship with Kevin is over. She knows she hasn’t taken it well and decides that she will do one last-ditch attempt to get him back. She wanted to show him how much she had grown up but after getting stuck on the road to her families cabin and having to walk the rest of the way I think she may want to rethink that.

When a bad storm hits Kevin and his crew are all too aware of the dangers that the snow can bring, so when a call comes in that a car was spotted going out in it they know trouble is close. His heart is in his mouth though when he finds out that its Lori’s. Knowing where she is heading he can’t get there fast enough and it seems in just the nick of time as she hadn’t made it to the door. Getting her inside and warm is the only thing on his mind. He knows he can wait to give her hell for putting herself in danger when she wakes. The cabin may get warm but body heat is so much better, something that neither seems to mind much. Seems miscommunication is the main cause of trouble for these two but as the storm blows outside you’re hoping that they will help each other melt inside. Hauled up for days with the one you love, its all either really wanted.

Alaska is going on holiday to her namesake place with her family. After her divorce she feels the need for a break from everything, especially men. On route though her car swerves off the road and nosedives down the side of a cliff. At this moment you might think she would have her life flash before he eyes but the only thing she was thinking about before, and then during, was Drake. Her man-crush from afar, an Olympic Skier and head of a Search and Rescue crew. Good thing too really as it’s his crew that comes to her rescue after her hire car alerts them. Though there is one final thing from his list she doesn’t know straight away and that’s that he is also a polar bear shifter. So you can see why he would like winter sports.

Drake is not only the head of the Search and Rescue team but also their alpha. When a call comes in he gets them to work straight away. They may seem like a bit of a rowdy bunch that seem to think humans are a bit stupid for travelling in bad weather but when he reminds them that they came there for a reason. Also that the woman they need to rescue could be a mate for one of them. Seems Drake was right about the whole mate part but he just didn’t expect her to be his. This would be great news if she weren’t in a car on the side of a cliff with her chances of falling getting ever closer. Seems his bear is getting closer to the surface with her being in danger and the man needs to pull him back if he is going to get her out alive. Though that is only the start of their problems. Aside from the fact he has to try to explain to her what he really is, who she is to him and get her to stay with him because I really don’t think his bear could take it if she left. It seems foul play is afoot and when you find out by whom by you just want to step into the book and slap/punch them silly for it. Good job her mate can keep her safe from now on. Side note I think a name swap happened a couple of times with one of the other crew/bear members.

WINTER’S STORM by Gracie Meadows

When a smarmy guy Travis starts to hit on Winter her only hope to get him to go away is to use the line “I’m waiting for my boyfriend” and hope someone new comes in the bar. So it’s a good job Jay does. When she goes up and begs him to kiss her to help her out he reluctantly agrees if she buys him beer and food. Though deep down you know he wanted too really because holy hell what a hot kiss it was, one that leads to some ever hotter loving later that night. Almost to the point she can’t see straight let alone walk straight. She knows a connection was formed even if they started rushed and has every intention of meeting up with him again. Skip to next day though and they both get a bit of a shock when they find themselves in the same meeting. Seems Jay thinks she played him for her fathers deal on his land. Nope you moron she’s not like that and if you stayed around long enough you would have found out. But no he can’t get away from her fast enough, turning himself into a bit of a recluse in the process.

Skip forward two years and you find out her family disowned her and she’s living in his aunts cabin – not that she knows it straight away. Can you guess the surprise he gets when he comes to help her with firewood? It’s not just her face that’s the shocker. Years have passed but their passion for each other remains front and centre bubbling just below the surface. They just need to talk about how they got to where they are if they ever want to go forward.

SNOW ANGEL by Rose Nickol

Bryce and his brother Hugh have a tricky job when the snow starts to fall; they are the ones called if its feared someone is stuck out in it. An abandoned car is found and they need to act quickly to be able to get to the person, wherever they may be. Good job they came when they did as Kasey wouldn’t have lasted much longer. As soon as they have her safely back at their place they have to slowly warm her up and figure out who she is with her being unconscious. Bryce seems to take an interest in her straight away. The need to protect her from then on out is front and centre. Which is good as his brother knows he needs a little happiness after the death of his wife Lucy three years before. But before he lets his brother get too attached they need to figure out what drove her to set out in such bad weather in the first place and whether trouble is following her.

Kasey is running from her stepfather who has turned into a mean drunk and starting to expect a bit too much from her in exchange for paying for her mothers care. She feared for her life so ran but knows he won’t be far behind. After only a few short days of recovery she grows to care for Bryce and longs to trust that he can keep her safe from her stepfather. When he says he would also take care of her mother she can hardly believe it. Especially when it looks like her stepfather is not going to go away quietly. Is she changing one set of chains for another though or can she trust Bryce enough to take care of them all? Well he does take care of her in the bedroom but how about the heart?

SNOW-KISSED by Lizabeth Scott

Reed is an only daughter with four brothers who all work for their fathers renovation company. Being an only daughter growing up with four brothers meant she really didn’t get to do many girly things – her brothers seemed determined to make her one of them. I don’t think she regrets it at first but after a handsome stranger starts to point a few things out its gets her thinking. She gets sent out on a new job by her father to meet with Mason about working on his parents cabin out in the woods a plane ride away. Shame they get snow in though – or maybe not as they sure find some fun ways to warm up.

Mason can’t believe his luck when he gets snowed in with Reed as being in her presence is driving him insane with want. Its everything about her that seems to draw him in but he doesn’t do relationships and isn’t completely sure she would be ok with just hooking up while they are stuck. Seems the longer in his presence though the more she does grow to want him. They go in eyes open about having a start and end date as neither really do relationships. It’s a shame emotions get in the way though. They both fall all in but aren’t strong enough to take what’s in front of them when the end date comes round. Well more Mason really but he just needs a few cold lonely nights to kick his ass into gear to go get his girl. Oh the fun you can have in the snow!

Amity is on the run from her abusive ex Javier. When a moment of freedom presented itself she took it thinking she could get away clean. When on route to a town a few states over she knows she needs to get off the road with the storm and snow coming in. Shame a car comes in close from behind and ends up pushing her off the road – seems Javier is never that far behind.

Lance, the sheriff and alpha wolf, gets a call about a car going off the road so goes to investigate. Good thing too really as Javier has a gun to her head at the time. Making a final threat he vanishes without a trace leaving Amity on the ground. One sniff and he can tell she’s his mate but with her injuries and psycho ex on the loose romance may have to take a back seat. Found it a bit strange that a pack of wolves, some good trackers, not being able to find Javier before it was almost too late. There has to be something about him though to be so shifty. When Amity gets put in harms way again a bite to save her may have to come to play when all other options are taken away. Lets hope she likes things a bit furry.

Delta Rogue by Elle Boon

“Keep looking at me like that, and I’ll say screw the men pursuing you and fuck you right where you are.”

This is technically the third book in the series so I found it helpful to have a sort of recap at the beginning to give Hailey and Maddox some context. A fellow navy seal Dex betrayed them and their team. Blake was almost killed so his partner Jojo – along with Hailey and Maddox – have been put on alert. You never actually meet the two guys but hear about them in passing. You are mainly focused on Hailey and Maddox in the crazy shitstorm that’s coming their way.

Hailey has been hiding out after her team was put on alert but an errand forces her to come out into the real world. As soon as she does she feels eyes on her so takes off on her bike like a bat outta hell. She loses the first tail but gains a different one in the form of Maddox when she stops. Good job he was following to keep an eye on her as assassins soon show up guns blazing, and then if that wasn’t enough her bike then goes and blows up. Thinking on his feet he needs to get her fixed up and somewhere safe. Good job he has a friend/partner in his ear he can rely on – seems he has been hiding something too.

Seems Maddox is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. He can see how hard it is for her to trust him from the craziness Dex put them through but deep down he can see she does. The chemistry has always been there between them but they held off for fear of not getting what the other wanted. Seems those fears are out the window when back at his. Saying they are both adults and can share a bed without anything happening is amusing to say the least. Especially with the tent he is spouting from his boxers. Just looking at her turns him on, so he is more than pleased the feeling goes both ways. Electric night together but their bubble is burst the morning after when gunfire strikes again. Seems people are after Hailey, for what they don’t know yet, but as long as there’s breath in him nothing is going to harm her. Loved that he went all caveman dominant on her, he definitely wants to cuff and claim his woman. Something she seemed to like a lot too. Fun times coming up as soon as all the chaos around them wraps up.

Arresting Submission by Daisy Philips

On Cat’s way into work she stumbles across something – or rather someone – that makes her feel uneasy. Thinking she is seeing things as the sexy bad boy on a bike couldn’t possibly be her ex Scott – one currently in prison for fraud charges from her last job. She must really need to get some if just the sight of this man is enough to get her going. What worries her though is that her sister’s fiancé Rick comes out looking shifty and passes something to him. She might just be feeling overly cautious but she knows she needs to get to the bottom of it. Especially when she notices the gun this guy has.

Scott lied to Cat once but one look at her again after all these years and he knows he will do whatever it takes to get her back. That’s if she will even let him explain about the past and what’s happening now. After being invited to a celebration for Rick and Maggie – side note it’s to announce her collaring ceremony, seems the sisters into kink – he wastes no time in getting close to Cat again. She may be a twin but she’s the only one that gets him going. Whether she wants to know about the past or present soon gets pushed back as their chemistry of want and need for the past few years comes rushing to the surface. Scott may not be a Dom but that’s not to mean he doesn’t like to get a bit kinky sometimes, especially with Cat – not that she’s complaining one bit. But with dirty dealings going on around them, whispers of the mob rebuilding and staff members creating an uneasy feeling for Cat will they get the chance to clear the air and start again.

Needed one final edit to get the grammar sorted and correct names used in places.

In His Custody by Fiona Archer

Goes down as another off my 2016 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – a book set in a high school.

Aiden works for the Seattle PD but needs to go undercover for his latest case. A drug ring has come to their attention, putting one girl in the hospital and a guy too scared to talk behind bars. He needs to get information to crack the case but didn’t realise that he would want something, or rather someone, else along the way. But with giving a false name and basically lying from the moment they meet what does he really think is going to happen.

Mercy loves teaching and taking care of her kids. She will go above and beyond to see them succeed. When a member of the football teams grades start slipping she knows she needs to confront the coach. Instead she gets landed with his assistant, substitute Sean. One look at him and she almost melts but shaking her bodies feelings aside she goes all guns blazing saying how important grades are not realising he agrees. They make a deal, if she tutors Cole and comes to his game then he will mentor her troubled student Isaac as long as she also agrees to a date. What women would refuse an offer like that!

They get closer though on a night out with some of the other teachers, brought together by someone who would have taken advantage if he could. Good job alpha Aiden aka Sean was keeping a close eye on her. Something he wants to continue with if she will let him. One night of passion isn’t enough, he wants more but with the little fact he has lied to her about who he really is from the start when she finds out will she get past it. Also a little matter of a drug ring to take down, the leader might be closer to key players than you think.

Street Justice by Holly S. Roberts

With a killer on the lose going after prostitutes Detective Lincoln Street is willing to take any lead he can. So when he gets a call about a prostitute just being brought in that only wants to talk to him he wastes no time in going over to lock up. Gets a bit of a shock though when he sees his sexy as hell neighbour inside the cell and realises she’s the one who called. At this moment he can’t believe he has had the hots for a working girl, as he can’t see any other reason why she would be there. Seems she does have a good reason but one she doesn’t feel like sharing right away. Seems she didn’t call him to help get her out but to make sure her dog Daisy – male dog mind you – is let out and fed. Only after she says that he won’t have to deal with her again does he agree – not that he is looking forward to being humped again by the out of control beast. Though he does soon realise the out of control part isn’t quite true if you know the correct commands – good boy Daisy, you did make me laugh.

Shelby isn’t impressed with her night locked up and if she thought that would be the worst of it she should have known pissing off the judge the morning after wouldn’t be good. Seems he has a way of getting under her skin and when the delectable detective Street just happens to be there she then finds herself under his care. One thing about Shelby is that she doesn’t like being told what to do, you will only get a nice response if you meet her halfway, something Lincoln is getting a crash course in. She can’t deny the chemistry between them so decides to go all in and ask for a bit of fun to help burn off some steam. Neither is looking for something serious but feelings still always creep in. With a killer on the loose though and Shelby taking too many risks will Lincoln be able to take charge to keep everyone safe.

Many points at the end where I thought the book was going to finish only to be pleasantly surprised that it kept going. Really liked this one as it was more in depth and kept you hooked with the quirky characters, and Daisy the dog, throughout.

Yes, Sir by Jenika Snow

Brittin is back in her old hometown Stales for one reason and one reason only, to help stop her twin brother Blaine from killing himself with booze the same way their father did. Getting a call from the local sheriffs department saying he had been in another fight she knows he’s on his last chance and if he doesn’t get help now she will lose him. She keeps telling herself that its just Blaine but the closer she gets to town and the sheriffs department she knows she’s kidding herself. She ran and hid from home for a reason and that reason just happens to be the sexy sheriff Lawson ‘Law’ Blackwater, a bear shifter and also her ex. She couldn’t deal with his alpha views on what his woman should be like back then so she left. Doesn’t mean she hasn’t missed him every second she’s been gone though. The question ‘what if’ keeps going round her head, lets see if Law can answer it.

Law knew the moment Brittin was close, his mate he smelt her on the breeze and only getting stronger the closer she got to the station. The effort it took to stay still and let her come in to get her brother without him just rushing to her begging for another chance is almost too much. Seems his desk is getting the brunt of his tension, especially when he smells her desire along with her uncertainty. He knows he has to tread carefully and is willing to do whatever it takes to have her again.

Seems sexual attraction melts both their brains. Even though they need to talk animalistic tendencies do come to the surface for both of them, he might be the bear but they are both a bit wild. Talk about taking control in the bedroom department, or anywhere else they can find, alpha bear to the max. Seems Brittin doesn’t mind the odd scratch and bite from the man who holds her heart. Lets hope he doesn’t crush it this time.

The Lawman’s Lover by Lori King

One word can change your course in life and for Colby it was his mum saying the word Parkinson’s. There was no way he would let his mum and sister go through this without him so first chance he got he moved back home to Montford and into the sheriffs department as the deputy. There might be chaos around him but one face seems to make it better and keep him calm. One look is all it took to make Colby crave a woman from his local dinner Elizabeth more and more. A girl he knew from his childhood who grew up into one hot dream of a woman. He just has to convince her that he’s worth taking a risk on. If he wasn’t serious then he wouldn’t have waited months to make his move, lets hope she’s willing to jump in.

Elizabeth can’t believe Colby, the popular hottie from school, would be interested in her. Since her divorce she has sworn off men and moved back home to live in her parents guesthouse. She doesn’t want a relationship but something about Colby makes her pause to think. He clearly wants to date her and the sexual chemistry between them is off the charts but she wants to hold back. When he broaches the subject of them dating she all but fires him down until he states that she clearly just wants his cock but not his heart. Thinking that is all he is going to get to start with when she agrees he goes for it. How much can he take though when is heart is on the line? She just needs to look a little deeper into her own to see the truth of where hers lies. Talk about forbidden fruit Colby can’t wait to get a taste of though with Elizabeth being the pastors’ daughter.

House Arrest by Lynne St James

This one is a little different then the rest in that the couple are already together and the guy doesn’t need to try and catch the girl. Only thing with this one is that he’s got to try and convince her to let him in more, after a year of dating I think he should be able to stay over for the night.

Anna might be happy with the way things are going with Ethan but he wants more, he wants all of her. After her fiancé was killed in action she refused to let anyone in but Ethan slowly crept up on her. She is letting him in just not as quickly as he’d like. When he surprises her at a house she is showing she has no idea he has an ulterior motive. There have been some break-ins recently that he has been dealing with and all but a couple have been from houses that her company are showing. He wanted to check it out but also make sure she was safe at the same time. When that house then gets burgled he knows it must be an inside job and with her help they might catch them.

After a late night date at hers he stays over for the first time – well it’s the least she could do after the hot off the charts sex session they have. He might cook more often if that’s what he gets as a thank you. It’s the start of what’s to come though when she informs him of a creepy guy she saw outside the house she was showing the day before. Seems she’s stuck with him until they are caught, as there’s no way he’s letting her be stalked and feel unsafe. She really doesn’t like being told what to do but needs to pay closer attention as Ethan is only ever looking out for her. Nothing he wouldn’t do to keep her safe. She may be headstrong but soon realises that she likes having him look out for her and staying at her place. When the heat is turned up in her office you know the culprit will be spooked, making their next move uncertain. They could be closer than you think and if Anna isn’t careful she could put herself in the firing line.

Seducing the Detective by Sherri Hayes

When a similar murder to a case she is working on in another state comes to the attention of Detective Janey Davis lieutenant he wastes no time in getting her and her partner Paul to check it out. With Paul’s parents big wedding anniversary party that weekend though Janey convinces their lieutenant to send her to check things out first and only send him if she thinks the cases are linked. When she gets to the Town of Liberty and meets deputy Kyle Reed she can only be a bit thankful. She may have a case to check out so knows she needs to be professional but she can’t deny the attraction from the moment she sees him, good job it’s the same on both sides.

Deputy Kyle Reed was almost out the door when he’s informed the detective is there. When he sees her and finds her partner isn’t coming it’s almost like the cat that got the cream. With her needing a place to stay for a moment I thought he was going to take her back to his so was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be his sisters bed and breakfast place. She brought out another side to Kyle, one Janey starts liking the more she spends with him. After checking out the drop scene for John Doe the day after Janey finds she works well with Kyle and his team even if she can’t believe how many times people mention the towns hog roast. Seems it’s a big deal and the moment Kyle crowds behind her asking her to go with him you can see her resolve slipping. The hog roast might be fun but things really start to heat up when they get back to his place. From living in different states though can this be more than a one-night thing? From the looks of the case before them they will be brought together again but I think their chemistry will be more of a pull.

Dirty Liars by Sydney Lea

Nikolai an FBI agent has been deep undercover for an Italian mob for three years. His focus can’t be broken away or the case being built will go up in smoke. On the latest job for them him and his partner Travis are waiting in a club as the family got wind of a transaction going down that they need to intercept. When the families granddaughter and her two friends Corina and Harper appear they can only think that she is the target. The other women would just be collateral damage. While talking it over they lose sight of them. Losing the families’ granddaughter is one thing but Harper is what he fears for most. A drunken hook up months before has started something stronger. It’s this fear that kick starts him into action but not before Annabella and Harper find themselves in harms way.

Harper should have known the night was going to end badly. From the moment Annabella said ‘I have a great idea’ she should have just gone home. Now she is being backed into a fence along with her by a bunch of men with guns looking anything but friendly. Seems she has been in the dark for too long and if she thought that was bad when Nikolai comes along to the rescue he shots first when someone attacks him. With her world crumbling around her the only instinct kicking in is to run. It’s a shame people are on her tail though, bad and good alike but what side is everyone really on.

When a gun is pointed at the woman you care about there is only one way to act – well only one way Nikolai was going to. Shame it’s caused his girl to run. With the bad guys on her tail he has to get to her first and back to his place. Something his handler isn’t too pleased about when he finds out he took her back to his real place. Well it was the safest place to go. He needs to explain if she will let him but as he’s been lying since the moment they met he’s not sure she will forgive. Lets just say it doesn’t take too long for their passions to ignite and remember what they are like together. She’s the only real thing that’s been in his life for a while. He needs to get her to safety but with mob bosses closing in will he get her there in time? Also is he willing to let go of the one person he loves for a case? Lets hope the answer is yes because damn they’re hot.

Her Hearts Protector by Caitlyn O’Leary

David’s day goes from bad to worse in the matter of minutes. Being in Las Flores starting to deal with a case against two military officers he can see (along with the chief of police) that the cops dealing with it are corrupt. If that wasn’t bad enough to deal with the earthquake that hits moments later sure finished things off. Chaos is what follows a few days later when the governor tells him that the prison has had a break out. The governor doesn’t know who on the island he can trust with so many cops and prison guards on the take so passes the role of chief of police onto David – not that he can really take it. The island is a disaster with victims of the quake scattered around. They need help and it soon arrives in the form of Doctors Without Boarders. Once they are set up at the hospital he can focus on rounding up the convicts. He’s in for a bit of a shock when he sees past love Sarah step off the plane. Their romance was short but sweet but ended due to his job taking him away. Well that and the fact she shut off all contact so he had no choice but to let go. Seems this time around is going to be different as one heated look is all it takes to reignite that spark.

From the moment that Sarah gets a moment alone with David you can see how much she’s missed him. Time and distance kept them apart but things are changing. Even with danger afoot there’s still time for some chemistry. Could this be a new start of something true or will the island bring them down? Danger is around ever corner with the convicts and when things start to escalate to the point of calling in the navy seals you know things just got really real and really fast. All things said when chaos hits though you really do want David at the helm keeping things on track.
